Video Tanki Tutorial Suggestions

Alright so I ranked up today, which is not relevant but has been my goal since the beginning. Because of this I am remembering when I first started and had nothing really to help me figure the game out other than learning by being a noob...still am mostly a noob.

Now, I would like to make a video beginner's guide to TO. There are some out there but the one's I've found either cannot turn their turret or say useless things like "use your tank wisely" which literally helps noone.

If there are any exhaustive tutorials could someone direct them to me. Otherwise, what are some things besides obvious things like controls that should be covered. I would like to help newbs learn things quickly that took me months to learn. Any thoughts? Ill take as many suggestions as you have.

Peaking with Thunder and Railgun.

using drift properly.

Angles and Charging with Magnum.

how to time Railgun shots properly.

how to use teamwork when playing team modes.

proper use of Firebirds Afterburn.

using Isida correctly in team modes.

how far away to start firing with Hammer, Twins, Ricochet, Isida Firebird and Freeze.

When to attack in CTF, Rugby, CP.

Ok, this is exactly what I wanted...If I make this, it will be multiple vids so they arent too long each. Most of this stuff would come nearer the end as it involves strategy. I would like to hear ppl's thoughts on strategy. You say "when to attack in ctf"...what would you suggest for this? I really like those other things you said :D

well attacking in any of the modes really depends on how many enemies are near the objectives, how close they are to it (i.e if they have anyone flag sitting) and what types of tanks they have defending it, also depends on what hulls and turrets you have, how many (if any) drugs, how close O.D is to full charge and if you can get a couple teammates to join you to try and grab it (although if the enemy base is pretty much empty Hornet+Firebird/Twins works pretty good) also

Proper Defense

Sniping

Ledge jumps (how to use them to avoid attacks and to not flip when jumping)

I'll eventually think of others but the ones I've mentioned seem pretty good for now

Impress upon the Newby not to try to MU everything in the garage. In my opinion, you may disagree and that's ok, is to find the fighting style that best suits the new player, whether it be long range, mid range or close combat. First turret/hull that meets the person's preference is the one to MU first, then pick a secondary fighting style and a turret/hull that is suited for that.

Many Newbys make the mistake of trying to MU everything in the garage and end up wasting a lot of crystals. I made that mistake on my first account and am still paying for that mistake.

When leaping from a building or a cliff, not all hulls are the same. Most you can fall forwards, fire a shot and you'll be alright. But the heavier hulls like Titan and Mammoth, going forwards will flip the tank. Best way to do it is by going backwards.

It should be pointed out that not every turret can be used with every hull mostly because of recoil. A couple weeks ago, I saw a Vulcan/Wasp. You know how long that combo lasted.

Explain every supply and how to use them to the best advantage. The cooldowns of each. What smart supplies are and how to use them effectively.

Hot Doggers. Those are the players who go into enemy territory by themselves and tries to take on an entire team. This isn't always a bad strategy. There's a time to do it and a time not to do it. A way that helps your team and a way that just gets you killed. A good Hot Dogger goes into enemy territory ahead of the advancing team and prepares the enemy for their death. The idea is not for the kill of one or two tanks, but rather to do massive damage to several tanks so they are easy kills for your advancing teammates. Firebird, Freeze, Twins and Vulcan (well hidden or at a distance) is good for that. Players who go into enemy territory by themselves just for the sake of killing and not necessarily to help the teammates are not Hot Doggers. They are suicide tanks with a death wish.

Using the game's mechanics for tipping over other tanks.

Are you sure you want to do these tutorials? There are so many dynamics to the game, the complexities can be overwhelming.

I don't know if any of this was helpful to you, but that's what came to the top of my head.

unflipping yourself is one of the basic things in the game, even complete noobs know how to do that unless they can't turn they're turret

And who on Earth uses striker  I think it was a fad for about a week after it came out, now it's used by ijits and noobs

Congrats on becoming a true Legend.

My suggestion would be how to turn your turret and its uses.

"how o turn your turret"

I have one thing to say: AXAXAXAXAXAXAXA!!! I still have no idea how this is a problem...like how does a person play and not notice others turning thier turrets

because some people are idiotic noobs or have friends who let them use high ranking accounts when they've never played TO before

I applaud you on correct spelling. Now go get some Grammar lessons

Please don't criticize other player's grammar or spelling unless it's done constructively. Many players use the EN forum, but English is not their Native Language. They learn it in school, but don't have the opportunity to use it in everyday life. English is a difficult language to learn. Even those whose Native Tongue is English can trash it, so how can you expect one whose Native Tongue is not English to be able to speak it (or text it) fluently and correctly? Don't discourage non-English speaking people, but rather praise them for trying.

I wasn't saying it to be mean, I'm legitimately happy that they spelled all of it so well, but they still need to learn grammar

We can just assume that they are getting some grammar lessons, but we still have to be respectful to those who haven't quite gotten it nailed down, and maybe even try to help them out to the best of our ability.

how to make a tank good without buying ever

Yes, please tell us. I tried that, already. I used my Recruit combo, didn't MU it, didn't buy supplies, spend not one crystal. I ended up battling MUed M1s with a stripped down Recruit tank. I was always at the bottom of the funds list, making less than 100 crystals per battle. By the time I had enough to buy an M1 of anything, it was already locked out. This was the advice of a Legend who claimed he had never bought crystals. He also went on to say that after getting the M1, try not to MU that either. Don't start MUing until you get the M2. I pretty much abandoned that account. I play it occasionally just in case I want to do something with it....like buying an M2 of anything using real world money.

Would this guide be available to prospective players before making an account? If so, then try to emphasize the fact that once a nickname is picked, it costs real world money to change it. Impress upon them the importance of picking a nickname they can live with for their entire Tanki career. The game isn't going any place any time soon, so they have plenty of time to think about it.

The most basic advice I can give you is do a mission every day, and dont waste crystals on cosmetics. Stick to one combo unless you have excess crystals.
