Future of T.O - Your opinion

It is a very slow death... Meaning that even though the game is degrading, people still would enjoy it and maybe miss playing it... It was always a good game, but with what the Devs are doing it will most likely die.

As it is now, it will die. I hoping HTML5 will give it a blast of pure oxygen. Of course, if Tanki runs its course as it usually does, HTML5 will be really buggy and glitchy. Hopefully, the HTML5 team are more professional than the Tanki team. By that I mean more experienced. I know most players have already gotten a taste of the HTML5 version. I wonder if this is the Beta version or if there will be a Beta version before it is officially launched.

This is the same as a new store opening. They open the store to the public before the Grand Opening to see if things are running smoothly, if anything needs to be rearranged, what items seems to be the most popular or less popular for stocking purposes. What the flow of people traffic is within the store and try to eradicate any bottlenecks. When all the bug, glitches and casualties are trashed then they have the Grand Opening. Before the Grand Opening is the store's beta version.

It looks like there are still enough buyers to sustain the game (judging by the inbalance in matchmaking battles). However, the buyers seem to outnumber the regular players in most games.

Everyone uses supplies now which means regular players will have to grind through the missions or spend most of their crystals on supplies. For players who haven't played in a while, they will probably find themselves totally outclassed if they have not saved up a stash of supplies or crystals.

The inbalance between buyers and regular players is bigger than ever and will continue to increase as the devs add more and more items for purchase to keep the game afloat.

This is certainly false. Tanki gives out sooo many free supplies that even free players can keep up. My clan is full of f2p players who only play MM battles. They MIGHT be low on repairs sometimes, but thats only before another large shipment of supplies arrives. If people dont use supplies, that is ok, but it is their choice, not the game's fault

OD's, Drones, alterations and even little things like the rocking effect of the tanks (wtf is the purpose other than annoyance?) killed the game for me.

Just finished a game where someone shot me only once that I felt from far away with smoky (I think) while carrying the flag and I was frozen then killed by a firebird.  Not to mention endless times each game being stunned by Hunter and bombed by wasp.  OD's are what ruins it the most.

I'm only hanging on in hopes they will revert, but won't pay a dime until that happens.

There goes another viking user complaining about the slippery slipperness of the hull. Change it, do yourself a favour.

Why change it? Each hull has its own idiosyncrasies, no two handle alike in all circumstances. Some players seem to think that the only difference between hulls is the speed. There's more dynamics than that. I use Titan, Viking and Hunter. Neither of those handle the same in all situations. It's up to the player to find out what the differences are and how to either work around that or work with it. (HINT: Weight distribution. The heaviest part of the tank is where the turret is placed.)

I've used viking a lot. It handles like the tracks are made of soap, and it can't take a single impact for the life of it without turning 90 degrees and then bumping into a wall. What's worse is that it also has worse than horrible acceleration, so it takes at least 4 seconds to even move off that wall and get back on track, by the time of which you're usually dead. And due to this it also literally can't escape from wasp bombs (m3 11/20, still can't) unless it was already moving away from it, despite being the fastest of the medium hulls. Ironic.

Plus it's extremely prone to flipping if you dare slightly hit an obstacle during a jump. If you really want a damaging overdrive take dictator and enjoy both defense and offense along with a much easier to handle hull.

I made a typo and corrected it. It should have said, "The heaviest part of the tank is where the (hull) turret is." Any tank will flip if it lands wrong or hits an obstacle in flight. And as far as the bombs go, well, Titan can't get out of the way either...most can't because by the time they see the bomb, it's too late. Sure you have 3 seconds, but you have to take into consideration the blast range, too.

Viking has a slow take-off, but it builds up speed gradually. No, it won't catch up to Wasp or Hornet, that's what your long range weapon and a good aim is for. If you really need a faster take-off, use a SB they help.

Well, as they say, to each his own. You either like your combo or you don't, in which case you will change to something you do like. I'm not trying to talk you into changing your mind, you like what you like. Viking isn't for everyone. It all depends on your play style. I use Firebird with Viking. I can get up my speed and run through enemy territory spraying napalm and fire over the enemy as I pass through and then turn the turret and give them another spray as I leave.

I'm not an aggressive player, I prefer a support role. Get the hp of the enemy down and let my team do the rest.

Fun fact: at the beginning of 2019 the average was 30k, that figure fell because of garbage updates like Overdrives and the drug-to-live meta.

I started playing in december 2017 and even then people were saying tanki only had 20k ppl playing and was dead. The current mess caused by people gaining or losing mk levels might cost tanki some number of players, but probably it will keep chugging on

During primetime? I vividly remember getting 30-35k players then.

I get your point that Tanki won't die anytime soon, but a 10k player loss is substantial. That being said, the game has leveled off at 20k peak for the last six months, so unless the tanki devs do something extremely stupid (like making railgun a projectile turret), I don't think Tanki will "die" within the next three years.

Still does not excuse the horrible design choices they have done over the past three years, but so has the rest of the games industry.

"Once the Railgun UT bundle expires it will not be available anywhere else."

Now that the bundle is gone, it is available in the Shop Special Offer rotation - along with all the XTs and Primes. And available to ALL ranks.

Is this offer blitz the writing on the wall?

Maybe. I'm glad they have xts always up for purchase. Its about freaking time. They are expensive but this will allow players with expendable income to get whatever they want

How was it arranged? You played with a whole lot of friends or waited it out till the battle list gradually became full? How long did it last? Supplies and od offed?

Battle was created...sadly with everything active. Then members from our discord joined...i think we had 10 in total. Other random ppl joined.

The battle was epic. The map is big so the battles mostly took place in the center instead of each other's bases.

We did play with supplies on which is fine i suppose. Drones were on which i dodnt want, bc i wanted this to be a super casual battle, and not escalate. One player went titan shaft and sab drone and just-camped the whole game.

Anyway, if more battles were like that, tanki would become alive again.

Thats the battle if you want details. Id love to spread battles like this so they become common again.

tl:dr: Big battles with lots of players are great. Next time Id suggest turning off drones and overdrives, but besides that it was great!

I have very mixed views about Tanki Online... Awhile back, I loved the game, and then it started degrading with all the updates. Now people are saying "All the Devs just want money, so their making updates that make the game more pay to win." (or something like that). But, I just realized awhile back, that it's not as bad as it seems - I mean, when criticism or negative comments come from players to the game, it's these huge paragraphs of points after points after points... When most of them don't even check out what's actually going on. You know how everyone complained about the Module update? Well I'm quite happy about it - and here's why: Before the update, I didn't have the Gauss turret, and getting the M2 at the time was around 70-90k crystals. I only had around 40k. After the update, however, I could go all the way to Mk3 before running out of crystals - which tells you something. It means that players are so used to bad updates, and bad gameplay, that when they here of an update they all comment something negative - they don't even test it for themselves. And anything positive that is said will be rejected and refuted by those players. A lot of them just say something negative because a lot of other people do, which is a fallacy - called the Ad populum fallacy - and it literally means "To the people". That's also something you see in modern society as a whole. It's essentially "All of them are doing it, so we're going to do it too. Because if so many of them are doing it, it couldn't be wrong, could it?" And therefore Tanki Online gets so many false and negative comments, that it is looked upon badly by its players, even though there is goodness and a good purpose in the true heart of the games updates. Now, some of you will be thinking "Yes - that purpose is to take our money and to suck us dry! All these updates are making it (the game) a money sucker." However, do any of you actually know why they make updates? Well, the simple answer is to make you happy. But then again, a lot of you are saying it's making you sadder, or even angrier. But, they get their ideas from you - they all look at what you want, what you've been posting, and trying to do it to the best of their abilities. However, you guys are so mixed up and just saying so many random things now that the Devs are really having a hard time keeping up - first it's this, then two days later you want the opposite - and the Devs are just going back and forth and back and forth... And you all blame it on the Devs, when really it's just you who brings everything crashing down. That's really all I can say, because everything else that is to be said is something that I cannot be said by me, because it's not in my place to say it. Good luck to you all, and have a great and happy rest of the year!

Well that's one way to look at it - blaming those that don't actually make the decisions..   ?

OR... they have simply implemented more poor updates than good updates.
