Hint that nickname has changed to form r_nickname0 after unable to log in

Maybe a player hasn't played for a long time and wants to get back in the game. They want to play but they can't log in because their username changed because someone stole it. Then at the login screen, some text will appear saying that if you haven't logged in for a while, your username has changed to form r_OLDNICKNAME0 plus the link to that username update.

Or let them use old nickname to login for few more times

If passwords are same its obvious its same person taking away nickname so they know about r_0

I don't know if that's possible (it would be much harder to code if it did). To my utmost understanding, all of the usernames and passwords are probably stored in a database (most likely SQL) so that they are 1 to 1. If an exception was made so that a temporary possible username would also link a player to a different username's account (the different username being the username with the r_0 added), there would be lots of problems caused by the inability to specify which data to call.

I know this sounds stupid, but also consider the 1/9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

possibility that a player with the r_0 might be able to have the same password with the player who just stole the username away from him/her. Then how would the system differentiate between the 2 accounts, if all inputs are identical?
