Do You Or Do You Not Waste Time?

I often see 50% protections against the turret I play with In-Game. With the current turret I personally do not spend any second trying to kill the opponent with the 50% protection module because I feel it is waste of my time and usually end up losing towards him in result. 

 

It's frustrating to see some people focus on me, even chase me down even though I may have 50% against their turret. I mean - do people really have this much patience? It takes at least 40-55 seconds to kill an opponent who has 50% protection module against the turret. 

 

For example; Ricochet - It takes FOREVER to end the player with 50% protection, it gives me an anxiety seeing some people actually spend time shooting at them even though it barely does any damage. It might be just me because I like quick/tactical kills In-Game. It gives me bigger anxiety when railgun tries to kill me whilst I have maxed out protection - Like why are you wasting your time on me? Just get lost...

 

Do really any of you people waste your time shooting at somebody who has maxed out protection against your turret? If yes...Then change your destiny.  :mellow:

I really don't understand the players that only focus on me, especially when I have 50%. Most of the time, it's Ricos, very weird.

 

It depends of the situation. If I have Rico, I might attack a player who has 50%, if he does not have DA.

 

With Twins, I don't care about 50%,this turret is still OP vs 50% with infinite ammo.

Most of the time im lucky , theres not so many people having/fitting against vulcan ( my main weapon , and weapon of choice ) . Yes there is occasionally 1 and if i can i try to avoid it . On the occasions i use another weapon , most of the times its special battles were i can use the splash or just the brute force . I m now in the lucky position where i can choose my weapon , in order to avoid many protection modules .

You do see a lot less firebirds in m3/4 level . 50% does a lot , and im fitted with it all the time due to overheating issues . Firebird m4 is strong but i do not fear it at all , since the 50% does the trick . Difference with the snowblower ... im terriffied of it , I do got protection but it isnt 50% , and i feel like it does something but not even close to what every other protection does . It stops my movement , so even if im not diying , i cant do anything .

IMO naive topic. Maybe relevant for DM/TDM, but in the other format battles, you’re not always gonna be able to pick who you fight. If the guy with your flag, bringing the assault flag or ball, or holding the point has protections or not, you either attack or go mult.

Shaft is the kind of turret that doesn't have a lot of protections against it, but if you do you're essentially almost immune against it for some reason.

I hate such people with a passion. Lately I've only been playing JGR battles, where you shouldn't really be fighting other players anyway. Fine, I don't mind if you do sometimes shoot others and finish off damaged tanks or shoot those with light hulls and/or no protection to get easy kills (after all, player with most kills wins). But when I'm a freshly spawned Titan with DA and 50% protection from your turret, minding my own business and trying to aim at the Juggernaut, WHY do you start attacking me with your useless Freeze/Rico/Twins/etc.?!?!? I will never understand these people.

 

I personally always ignore 50% protections unless I have DD and they don't have DA, and preferably they are damaged.

Well, No.
I would waste my time and energy attacking enemies with 50% prot. 

Unless they have the flag. I'll try to do any much dmg as i can and hopefully my team mates are helping.

That is a completely different scenario. We all have different style of playing in different modes - I mostly focus on kills in any battle format. I dislike capturing flags myself, hence I always let my team mate take the flag but mostly I focus on getting kills - Once I see maxed out protection against my turret I simply do not put any of my time to fight him off. It would be waste of my time and also wasting the time when my DD is activated.

 

If I did not focus on the flag carrier - Would I be multing? 

 

During DM/TDM - That is even worse when most of the people have protection against the turret you're using and some of the people don't - Will you focus on the people with the protection against your turret or not?

That is really true about twins - But I still tend to ignore them and focus on somebody weaker.

That is exact scenario I had in mind because it happens so often I just get annoyed, so many people have so much patience to fight 50% protection.

I avoid them unless I can't get away, or just switch to a turret I have that they have little protection against. Only if I have double power on and if my opponent doesn't but has protection, I would bother try killing them.

depends on the turret I'm using... if it's shaft then why not? just use double damage and I still kill them in 1 shot.

if it's turrets with unlimited ammo like smoky, then i still attack them if i have the extra time

but if it's hammer then no, instead of 3,6 seconds i'll need 12,2 seconds

I don't normally target people with 50% protection, only if they are capturing a point/holding our teams flag/attacking our flag holder, that kind of scenario. The only other time might be if everyone else is attacking that enemy, then I may join in. Otherwise I stay away from them.

Unless it's DM, why would you try to avoid that tank?  It is a threat to your team.  If you have trouble killing it, at least you are softening it up for another team member to kill.  What are you going to do?  Ignore it and let it run free?

I rarely play Juggernaut, but when I do, I aim for closest target because...

 

1) It's still a version of DM

2) A kill is a kill. Until more pts are rewarded for killing the JUG, might as well do easier targets

3) Your odds of getting a "kill" are lower on Jug as others are competing for same kill

4) I suck with Rail, so... I get a waaaaaay higher score in battle feasting on all the other players.

I sometimes kill an enemy with 35+ protection so I do not think that it is a waste of time and/or energy. Players are usually damaged so they can often be quite easy to kill.
