ASL mode-if a red holds the flag for more than 1 minute, the flag automatically drops

sometimes you see this stupid shaft teammate who takes the flag and doesn't try to capture it, just camps for his k/d...

so i suggest that if you hold the flag for more than 1 minute the flag will drop and reset.

I changed your original idea of enabling friendly fire on the flag holder to simply making them automatically drop the flag. It's a much more effective and team-friendly solution.

the problem with flag dropping is that... what if it is just really hard to capture the flag so i take more than a minute... your idea will just make it even harder than it is..?

 

killing the teammate is better, please change it back

This would not only encourage saboteurs. But it would also create quite a few problems.

 

What if it was on a large map or if the blue base was really well defended and the flag carrier has to take a detour just to sneak the flag into the blue teams base?

 

Once again it's just another case of Guido being butt hurt that he can't have everything his way.

Sorry, you need to think of another solution. Adding a feature that specifically encourages players to kill their teammates goes against all logic. There are plenty of more neutral solutions, such as making the player take fire damage if they hold the flag for too long, or making them take damage if they stay too close to the base with the flag.

It's fine the way it is. The minute change isn't needed, and the idea of enabling friendly fire on them is even less so. In fact, enabling friendly fire on the flag holder would be absolutely ridiculous and stupid.

in the army if you don't advance quickly enough those behind you will kill you. this is the logic

making people know that they'll be killed if they don't capture it quickly enough will make them think twice about holding it for too long and waste the whole team's time. it will also motivate them to capture it more quickly (or at least try to)

Its not good logic. Killing your soldiers>less soldiers>lose battles>lose more soldiers>lose the war. I dunno what i.diot commander would tell his troops to do that.

when you don't advance, you forcing everyone else to stay in a position they better not be in.

 

also, it is because of exactly this everyone will be motivated to advance. better to risk getting killed by the enemy than to be killed by your own

 

it's also group psychology. if they let one person stay and be a coward everyone else will want to stay and no one will go.

I'm very sceptical that any modern army would officially encourage friendly fire against cowards or deserters. It happened in WW2, sure. But I'm pretty sure nowadays it's banned.

they might not officially do it but I'm pretty sure lots of modern armies still do it anyway. just not officially. I've done it myself

 

besides, there's lots of stuff every country dosen't do officially.

 

 

 

anyway why does this matter? the fact that this has been done before shows that this is logic which makes sense. Even if they stop now it's probably because of some human rights rubbish and not actually because it doesn't work. and i don't think killing teammates in an online game is against human rights

This mode really needs a balance, maps like Forest or Red Alert are impossible to defend, 3 flags are too muchs... Being attacked from 3 differents directions is a nightmare.

 

Maybe could be good if you receive a defensive bonus if you stay close from the point.

 

Being from the blue team is a nightmare, druggers attacking you from their base and druggers carrying flags. High ranks battles is just that... DRUGS.

It's hard to implement because I don't know how the system will recognize a camper with a flag.

 

If the defenders are good, you can take a lot of time to capture, especially if you stay behind and let your teammates clear the way for you.

 

As suggested, maybe, if you are to close to your base with the flag, or not moving, the flag could drop after 1 minute.

If you really want this implemented, then create an ASL battle with Friendly Fire enabled. Problem solved.

This is not Russia circa 1942 - you are trying too hard to be a "Stalinist Russian"

 

This idea would do more harm than good.

We would see > # players killing team-mates than we would # players just holding onto the flag.

 

The players holding onto flag in Assault is so rare it's a non-issue.

There are more players in regular CTF refusing to cap the 7th flag just so team can pad their scores.

Bruh, the pro pass is cheap and they last a month. Besides you can earn back the crystals you spent on the bass easily, plus more. <_<
