If you're a teacher, what would you do if a student comes late?

Depends how hot the student is.

oops i wasn't supposed to say that :P But i think many teachers would actually agree today.

For real though, it depends whether or not the student deserves a beating. There are those kids who dont really give a damn about their education and everyone knows will be a drug dealer one day, i will probably throw saturday detentions if they are late all the time. If it's a smart kid, i wouldn't penalize him/her, maybe a tiny scolding that's it.

I would make them March left and right and fo jumping jacks

It's a good thing you are not a teacher. I couldn't think of a better way to waste time.

Scold them and tell them if they do so regularly they will have to be taken to principal and their parents summoned in the school.

If they regularly come late, I'd punish them, otherwise let them come in, no punishment no scoldinf.

Duct Tape them to the chalkboard!

Corporal punishment is illegal in a lot of countries and it should stay as is.

The thing is if you give them beatings they will have more and more hatred for you and things will just get worse especially as they get older. Whereas if they were given a little love at school since their parent arent usually the best it may give them a sense of relief and respect for you.

Of course this doesn't apply everywhere, some children are unfortunately too far gone but its usually the parents who are to blame and if you can be the best person in their life you will likely see some improvement.

I'd lock the door when it's time so people can't get in anymore when class has already started. Students all have a phone so they can email me a day before with a valid reason of why they'll be late.

My chemistry teacher did this all the time. I don't know if I would get away with it as a teacher but he certainly could. It worked perfectly, no one came late anymore lol.

The dude had this good British sense of humour and earned respect from all of us. He reminded me of Lemmy Kilmister from Mötorhead but without the long hair.
