If I'm a teacher, and a student comes late,...

hah! I wouldn't do anything to him!

Because I know I myself as a teacher is always late to school !

Just be such a good teacher that my students would never want to turn up late.

I like that.

I must say this particularly true for one of my professors. I've attended every class and I'm disappointed when class gets cancelled.

Tbh some teachers/professors don't care whether you show up for their lecture or not as long as you turn in your work on time.

I would judge if their lateness was justified or not. Either way, I would make sure they understand what is going on, and that they can get on track. For those who were late without justification and their parents were at fault, the parents would be asked to provide a reason, and if their reason wasn't sufficient, I would increase the tuition for the student. And if it was the fault of the student, their grades would be lowered by a percentage for a week.

I would open my computer, and tell the student to buy me some crystals

But, no jokes aside I'll ask him to come later, after class to take the notes he missed so he does not get late in his studies!

After a couple of warnings, I let it be known that if the offender is late again without a legitimate reason the entire class gets extra (difficult and graded) homework.  Actually this is one of the rules I talk about at the beginning of the year.  ...I never had to give out extra homework.  Peer pressure is a wonderful thing.
