Addition of rule(s) and changes/tweak to rule(s)

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if i can suggest multiple things in one suggestion but it's all related to forum/game rules

Well,  let's start of this rule:

– advertising, political propaganda;

As far as i understood that we're not allowed to discuss policy/religious matters on game chats/forums, that's sad, why not making it like... you're free to talk about policy and/or religious matters in a mature way as long as it's not heated argument. I've seen people (i was about to be a victim of it)  who're discussing something in a mature way but sadly they get punished. in-short, you'll be free to discuss policy/religions but in respected/fully-matured way and make respected arguments.

Addition of a new rule; being ungrateful towards the developers or the game will result in a block (based on the case)

for examples; you can't go ranting about updates saying; bad update/stupid update/I dislike the developers (or any kind of ungrateful messages)

We all know that when you get called a noob/sabotager/mult or any kind of bully words is disrespecting you. so there will be a punishment issued (30 minutes - 1 hour bans) when you call someone a noob/sabotager/mult or any other in-direct disrespectful message. (Please don't say it's normal because it's also irritating for us readers)

un-censor(ing)  abbreviation like; wtf. why? because it's not even a disrespectful message, people use it for expressing a feeling like... "How did it happen?" "What was that?" so it's a feeling in the end and nothing harmful!

(btw, if anyone of moderators dislike one of the ideas, don't lock it straightaway. just remove the one you dislike not to lock it all)

it would be a nice addition, as some of people want to discuss real life matters/policies/religions but don't find the correct subforum for it. everyone will be welcome to debate about anything they want with a strong argument. heated arguments will of course result in a punishment. it'll help mature people to find something to debate about as in the said topics; religious/policies/sexual or anything else. debates will only relate to real life issues and stuff, not for random topics.

Years of experience have showed that the rules we currently have are necessary to keep the chat and forum civil and neat. I realise that there is an off-topic section on the forum for discussions not related to the game, but some discussion topics are just completely unsuitable for a game forum, and those include religion and politics. It's almost impossible to have a civil discussion on those subjects in any community, let alone an online game's community.

Being ungrateful towards developers is not a violation. Spamming profanities and racial slurs addressed at developers is against the rules simply because that kind of language is not allowed, regardless of who it was addressed at. On the other hand, constructive criticism is definitely allowed and even encouraged.

Perhaps you're right that there is no need to censor profane abbreviations, but it's a sensitive topic and there's a thin line between using it to express a feeling and using it to insult someone, so it's best to just keep the chat and forum completely clear of them.

I feel that if the mods want to enforce that rule whereby discussion of politics is not allowed, they should at least know what is politics! for example they should not ban someone for mentioning communism because it is an economical system and not a political one!

I know people now days drop F-bombs frequently, but I still find them offensive and have learned to tolerate. However, that doesn't mean I want to read it, too. Somehow, I just cannot add F-bombs to my list of defecations, damns and Hades.

Communism is both a political and economical system.

Utopic communism where everyone gets a work which suits them best, same amount of money or whatever, same amount of respect and same amount of everything is currently impossible (but possible in far future).

It is sad that lots of dictatures pretend to be 'communistic' or 'socialistic' because they are not.

Winston Churchill said: 'Democracy is not perfect but there is nothing better.' I totally agree! In democracy, people hold power and just 'rent' it to politicians.
