Assault will never be fun

Who even believes Assault is fun? When I get the blue team(which defends), I get high scores cos it's easy lol. But when I get the red team(which does attack), I max. get 100 scores till the end, cuz it's not fair. It is almost not possible to pass the great def that composed of at least 2-3 heavy hulls and at least 2 isidas.

 

I mean, Assault will never be fun.

Well..for some of us it's really boring playing in red team and always losing.

When im  playing in assault battles i have fun and most of the time i win beeing in the red team.

What i mean  ASL is funny in both game modes. (in my opinion :D)

Assault is a lot the same game mode of Capture The Flag

Assault mode is unlike any other mode in the game - it combines the strategic element of capturing flags with the defending setups of control points.

Assault is not fun because sometimes people don't know the objective of their team, especially with Blue team. In not all battles there 2-3 heavy hulls with 2 isidas in the blue team.... Sometimes there's no heavy hulls on the blue team, and red team just come one by one walking to the blue point. It should be removed tbh, especially with MM implemented, there would be more battles in other modes to fill players in.

For blue defending - it's fairly easy to co-ordinate.  Just equip heavy hulls and lay lots of mines.  Don't even need to communicate.

 

Unless red co-ordinates their attacks together, with a decoy sacrificing itself to distract/weaken defenders, red has a hard time.

 

Language barriers hurt red more than blue.

Before MM was implemented, it was fun. You had to play 2 games (attack and defend) to get the full extent of the battle, to see who really is the better team. With MM, even if I play a battle from beginning to end, in the end, I feel like I'm packing my bags and going home in the middle of a battle. It feels unfinished.

I feel as if Assault just needs minor tweaks, and I personally feel that the 8 minute battle system shouldn't be implemented in the MM Assault battles, or any battle for that matter. A tad bit of experience should make assault quite interesting, with choke points designed for every map maybe

8 minute?? Oh no no no. They aren't thinking of reducing battle time again!! Are they? From 9 to 8 minutes? Please tell me that's a typo.

I like Assault (and I don't think any of the modes should be removed), but it does turn in to a kind of TDM for red when you realise that you've got no chance of winning. I just ignore the flags and try and kill as many blues as possible (often for score points ASL missions), even though I'm going to get less crystals.

 

Tweaks I'd like to see or trialed:

 

  • Three flag pickup points on every map and / or two blue bases on some maps 
  • 10 points for a flag drop on maps where attacking is really hard
  • Red getting 1 point for every 2 blues they kill

These would be so much. 2 flag pickup points, 5 points for capturing, red shouldnt get points if they kill blue enemies.

Red is at a disadvantage because Blue can easily spot oncoming flag-carriers (flag's position constantly highlighted)

In order to win, Red must set up a couple of Thunders/Magnums to break up the defence so attackers can pass through. But this requires communication and strategy which can't be applied on multi-language servers. Playing for Blue is far easier.

Basically combining the two modes of Ctf and CP and their settings into one game mode and whichever team has the most points at the end of the battle wins.

Basically combining the two modes of Ctf and CP and their settings into one game mode and whichever team has the most points at the end of the battle wins.

Its basically reverse ctf just a more boring version it would be 80% 7-0 and 19% 7-6 and 1% actually decent 0-0 battle

so you dont need a flag to cap its either blowout, draw or very close battle and rarely 0-0
