Make a Juggernaut tutorial

Recommended Posts

I was playing JGR and unexpectedly killed it. I suddenly found myself behind an unfamiliar screen. There wasn't any time to figure out the dashboard. I still don't know how to change weapons.

There needs to be a tutorial, either video or text, to explain and familiarize players with what they will expect to see when seated in the Juggernaut. If there is already a tutorial, I can't find it.

All I could do was hit the spacebar, but the only turret that was working was Striker. I knew there were other weapons, but I didn't know how to activate them. I saw some squares at the bottom of the screen, but there was no clue as to what they were for. At least a couple quick glances didn't tell me a thing. When 10 people are shooting at me, that wasn't the time to try to figure things out. I didn't even have 2 seconds to look at the screen.

What you're saying is, you hold down the spacebar and that rotates through the turrets. How do you know when you find the turret you want?

I hit the spacebar and what came up was striker. I thought once a weapon was fired, it would rotate to the next one. I was wrong. I hit the spacebar again and striker came back up again. I refuse to believe that I'm a stupid noob. I refuse to believe that I'm the only one in the Community that doesn't know how Juggernaut works.

There would be several things to consider, like where to put the tutorial, and also coding the AIs (Assuming that you do not want the tutorial inside a real game). Since the juggernaut tutorial cannot be added into the official game as it will probably stuff up the user interface and maybe even the coding, the tank tutorial might get added as a trial inside the tanki Online tutorial if it gets approved.

If nothing else, at least a link to a tutorial in the Wiki. It can be either video with voice, text or text with pictures. Something to show the interface and an explanation. There are videos showing it in action, but that's all.

This article may (or may not) be of help to you.

I read the article and now I know a little more about the tank.

I still have some questions, though.

1...How do you rotate through the turrets? One player said to hold down the spacebar. Is that It? Just hold down the spacebar until the desired turret comes up? How do you know which one is activated?

2...In the article, it said that when you become the Juggernaut, you will have the same protections you had when you killed the Juggernaut. But then later on, it said to protect yourself against 4-5 turrets. So, I assume that when you become Juggernaut, you will have the 3 that you already had equipped, then as Juggernaut, you can equip up to 2 more. How do you do that?

3...When I became Juggernaut, I saw some squares at the bottom of the screen, but I didn't have time to study them to find out what they are for. So, what are those boxes at the bottom of the screen for?

To rotate, just rotate it like a normal Railgun or Striker. The second part, I meant to say that there are 4-5 turrets you should protect yourself against (that is to say that 4 or 5 pose a serious threat although you can still only equip 3). Not sure what the third part means though.

Juggernaut has Railgun and Striker. When I hit spacebar the first time I had Striker. When I hit it a second time, it was Striker again. How do you get to Railgun? I didn't have time to hit the spacebar a third time. I was dead.

Seems I'm slowly getting a tutorial the hard way, by asking a bunch of questions. All these questions could be answered in a few minutes instead of a few days.

Well if you tap the spacebar and let go, you'll fire the Railgun. Holding it down will load the Striker.

Well, son-of-a-gun. It only took 13 posts and (what?) 3 days to get a concise answer. All this isn't explained in the article. A mute point? I don't think so.

If this suggestion is declined, then I guess @u812ic is the only noob in this community that didn't know all this before entering Juggernaut for the first time.

Thank you for the tutorial. It was as easy as milking a cow by hand for a bucket of milk. By the way, it's not as easy as Hollywood makes it seem.

For Recruit ranks, or higher ranked players which never used the juggernaut game mode, there must be a juggernaut tutorial that appears on screen once once. The player should be given the choice to re-enable this tutorial if he wants to read it again to make it more clear in his head on how to use the juggernaut tank.

When you are Juggy-it is a rare occasion for many players that have not mastered the mode. Even if on paper you know how it works-you need a training on a dummy. Maybe a 30-second tutorial when you unlock JGR. You need some practice-when you don't have 10 tanks on your throat.
