Turret Balance, Holiday Paint Update

Judging solely by turret proliferation in battle, it looks like Firebird, Freeze, Ricochet, Thunder, and Rail seem to be the good ones now. I have to add that in the right hands, Striker can be a real beast.

But this change has pushed Twins out of favor. I might see one Twins user in a battle, struggling to stay alive using Titan for health.

Magnum is an odd one (see what I did there?). I’ll see three or four in a battle (usually Sandal or Highland), then won’t see any for many battles. I’m fine with that.

Hammer and Isida are still around and are solid threats when drugging.

What’s everyone else seeing on the battlefield? What do you think are the new go-to turrets?

Still lots of twins.  And when twins meets ricco - ricco loses - 7/10 times.

And tons of fire - fire is one protection I always equip by default.

I’m only a noob / still (just) in the under-200K XP bracket, but Rico, Thunder, and Rail gave me the most trouble when I started and protections against them were my default (but the modules were split just before I was about to buy the M1 triple for them). I don’t see that many Twins.

Then Freeze OP happened and then Firebird, but now Freeze is where I think it should be (not nerfed, but still a threat) and I’m using / buying a Firebird module instead of a Rico one. Rico is stronger at close range now, but Firebirds outnumber them.

Everything else can be horrible in the right hands, but I get killed by Rail and Firebird much more than anything else (Smoky buff has changed the Thunder <> Smoky relationship a lot). I hate them.

You've really had it in for Shaft, and I don't know why.  Not only do you flood MM with maps having no sniper positions, now you nerf the turret. Depleting the tank on an aimed shot will completely kill it off.

Why? Because anyone using shaft that is half decent at it and is sitting in a good sniping spot makes it COMPLETELY impossible for short range turrets to enjoy the game! From the perspective of someone who uses Isida a lot, this update is overdue. Really overdue....

When was the last time you saw a shaft in an MM battle?

Good for them, Twins users have had an advantage for far too long, now it's their turn to have a miserable time.

Agree with you on Fire.

But with Twins, it needs help. Whether from drugs, heavy hulls, or modules against my turret, a Twins user now has to bring something else to the table in order to dominate.

Twins vs Rico - at ramming range, sure Twins might win, but with any distance between the two tanks, Rico punches harder IMO.
