Recent Changes?

There was a turret balance that was released yesterday along with a revamp to the Holiday Paint, which you can find here.

Of course, this will heavily impact the gameplay for certain people, but there haven't been any recent changes to the actual physics of the game that I'm aware of.

New holiday paint is absolutely brilliant. The previous had just too much contrast, it was like 'Hit me, I am an easy target!'

The Twins nerf/buff is quite interesting. Splash can be now used as an advantage. The most interesting thing is the reduced projectile speed. It makes Twins extremely vulnerable to peek-a-boo tactic commonly used by Smoky, Thunder and Rail players.

The long range alt will be now a must-have for both Twins and Rico.

Depends on the map. If it is cramped (think 2042) then the long range alt will put you at a disadvantage because you fire slower, making you an easy target for Firebirds and other short range turrets.

You mean like you're flipping more/less than you used to? Yeah, the devs constantly change the physics without telling us since it's really not that important for the player to know, only to get used to. But I haven't played in a while, so I wouldn't know.

I keep up with the announced changes. I don't refer to those.

The physics have changed. There seems to be more inertia in everything, particularly turning of tank and turret. Jumps hang more. Nose of tank goes up easier and stays up longer. Jumps are longer. Tips and flips are more, but more acrobatic. Some time back (several months) they implemented some physics changes to keep tanks from flipping over so easily. That doesn't seem to have changed, but something about play dynamics has more flips occurring. The best I can tell, gravity is slightly less. That would account for everything I'm seeing except the inertia.

Tanks have always climbed over one another chaotically, but it seems more likely now, in more unpredictable ways. (Tanks on level ground should never be able to climb one atop the other, but they sometimes do.)

It is too hard to tell if they changed parameters in the wiki. I don't keep track of the history, and they don't always manage to make timely updates. So, there could be something they didn't mention but documented in wiki updates that I just don't know about.

The effects are things I've been noticing for weeks but were too small to be sure. Now, I'm as sure as I can be. Something has changed. Gravity slowly decreasing and inertia slowly increasing over these past few weeks are the closest things I can guess for what I've noticed.

If you are wondering, I'm serious. I'm not hunting trolls. I really think the devs have been tweaking physics parameters little by little over the past few weeks.

To sensei_tanker's comment, I know they tweak some of the physics for some things, but they've never admitted to tweaking the basics. The overall feel is different. The best I can describe what I'm seeing is less gravity. It might make hulls slide too much, so they increased overall inertia, not the directional factors that make the Hornet drift and such.

You lose 20% of DPS but you have 2* bigger range and projectile speed. I think it is really worth it.
