Flag bases that damage enemies

We have these guys in CTF who continuously fight for getting the enemy flag by pushing each other and sumo wrestling till the flag returns, after a capture or not, to the base. Great, isn't it?

My idea is to have flag bases that damage enemies that sit on them like a hoard of buffaloes. This way, taking a flag would be more of like taking a meteor gold box.
The bases would reduce the HP of enemies nearby like an isida, though without the high DPS. This can be figured out by the developers.

But for Semyon Kirov's ghost's sake, please don't think about healing flag bases. That would be too dumb.

Haven't you seen those flag fights? I see them every time I join a one-sided battle. And that's like one-third of all battles.

Probably happens more on low ranks. At my rank people don't fight for flags as much and battles aren't usually so one-sided.

But still the issue exists for Warrant Officers and below ranks. This update won't harm Legends and higher ranks at all.

I don't like that :/ and wrestling is more fun, plus doesn't really matter

I know it's fun for higher ranks at which we push each other friendly. But at lower ranks it's total sabotage.

I know this problem decreases and then vanishes completely after the rank of Third Lieutenant. But we can't deny a crucial update just because higher ranks don't need it.

Just deny defenders from stepping within a 5 m radius of their flag base so they can't sit on them anymore.

Not so crucial as it is interesting. It would make much of centered around the midfield, though. Perhaps make new maps with this feature? 

 

Also, healing bases + damaging bases would kill spawnkilling. Also an interesting idea.

Damaging bases are not meant for killing, just for scaring off enemies fighting for the flag. Even a slow mammoth will be able to take the flag and go without being much damaged. I was planning on reducing 50% health for every 15/20 seconds spent on the base.

Moreover, as @thethiefofvictory mentioned, it will prevent spawn killing on maps like silence, though in a miniscule manner.

 

But, as I mentioned above, no healing bases please. We already are tired of defenders sitting on flags and drugging.

Players in Robocraft get healed by their own base and get damaged by the enemy base. If similar mechanic was added to Tanki, some players would constantly go on their flag point to get healed...

 

Ouch, that annoying Smoky hit me again, I need to be healed! xD

Which is why I am against healing bases...

Hold on a minute.... have you played any battles during this most recent star-week?

 

There are 6-0 and 7-0 battles even at Legend ranks.  And many battles are ending 8 players vs 4 players.

Yes, I have over 100 stars.

 

I've been in a few of those 7-0 battles, but they are definitely not so common. Maybe 5-10%. I wouldn't say that most battles are balanced, because they're not, but generally the final score difference is less than 4 flags/balls.
