Why are different hulls and different turrets different prices?

Recommended Posts

So after playing the game for a while, it hit me.

Why is firebird like 7k m1 when thunder is around 35k m1? (can't remember exactly)

Also, why is m2 wasp unlocked so much later than say m2 hornet?

There may be some reason which is not clear to me.

My solution is to find a mean price for all of the turrets and hulls and make them all unlocked at the same level

This will mean an increased diversity in battles and more fun.

Nobody likes seeing the common titan and smoky m1 combo

In fact, it was so bad that once a while ago when I joined a battle there were around 3-4 smoky and titan m1 combos

This makes the game so boring and it also attaches. a bad stigma to using smoky at later levels as I remember the barrage of them in the earlier

Also when playing XP/BP at my low rank I only see hornet m2 around my level but wasp m2s are super rare (since they are unlocked at a much later level)

This particularly bugs me as I am a bp player rather than XP

But because i want to be able to play in thXPxp/bp format rather than hope that the people which join will change to xp/bp.

PS: I am not expecting them to change the pricing just for me.But I want a good reason why it is like this :)

Unlocking them at different levels gives players something to look forward to as they progress through the ranks.

Having everything unlock at once would mean that you probably wont be able to afford them and by the time you saved enough crystals you'd be too far ahead in rank and the weapons would be too weak.

In the example you gave Firebird is 7k because it unlocks at a very early Master Sergeant rank while Thunder unlocks at a much later Warrant Officer 1 hence the extra cost.

There are other factors that go into unlock rank and cost but its mostly about giving players things to look forward to as they progress.

In addition to what Ninja said, more cost generally equals more power. Firebird m1 is one of the weakest M1s, whereas Thunder is quite good. Its the same with hulls: Wasp m2 is far superior to Hornet m2, but it cots more and unlocks later.

Firebird m1 is very powerful compared to say freeze m2 its burn effect lasts.

And If some turrets are more powerful generally than others then why does tanki always try to balance them?

Crystals are much easier to get with containers which have the chance of giving Huge amounts of crystals

Also, I will be forced to play hornet m2 which I don't want to as I am a bp player simply because the level is so high and I don't want to wait so long

to get into proper XP/BP format matches :(

Exactly. And the way it's meant to work is that by the time someone else unlocks and buys Thunder M1, the players with Firebird M1 would have already bought a few MUs on their Firebird, making it similar in power to the default Thunder M1.

This kind of system would work perfectly well if only MUs would be limited by rank, but unfortunately that's not the case and a player can buy crystals and instantly get Thunder M2 as soon as they unlock the M1.

Because some are OP like firebird and magnum where as some of them are weak like Vulcan and hammer.

I disagree I think that the player should have a wide range of choices of weapon not to be forced into one weapon.

This may discourage any new players as their favourite weapon say railgun (most popular gun) is unlocked much later

So they would be forced into playing rail m0 vs smoky m1(11k) which would ruin the experience.

I think all M0 should unlock at Recruit, all M1 at WO1 and all M2 at Major. All M0 hulls and turrets should cost 250 crystals, M1 20000 crystals, M2 80000 crystals and M3 320000 crystals. That would make perfect sense xD

By the way, Smoky is now really OP. I fight against M3 combos with my M2 Titan and M1 4/10 Smoky with no problem. If I had M2 Smoky (or Thunder), the enemies would have no chance...

Only noobs use that weapon to look "pro". Trust me, XP/BP is NOT worth your time. You'd be better off getting Smoky and trolling those noobs.

I think you missed my point. You're supposed to slowly micro-upgrade your turret while you haven't unlocked the next modification. So by the time you unlock your M1, your M0 should already be at 10 steps (which is the same as M1) and you just buy the next modification for free. The fact that you're upgrading your equipment means that you will be able to compete against turrets that unlock later on, because theirs will be default, but yours will be upgraded, despite unlocking earlier and being weaker in its default form.

Firebird m1 is very powerful compared to say freeze m2 its burn effect lasts.I wont argue that Firebird is a bit OP right now, but it is a massive leap in power from m1 to m2.

And If some turrets are more powerful generally than others then why does tanki always try to balance them? They should be balanced at M3, although they may not be at other levels. (I say "should" because its almost impossible to obtain balance.)

So what about M3's? They unlock at the same rank

M3s will last forever so there is no worry that you wont have enough time time to save up crystals and buy them.
