So I did some maths :)

700 stars needed for cool new paint.

3 stars without buying a pass to get you 6 per battle ( and I need to come 1-3 each and every battle)

So 700/3 =  233.3 battles you need to win and come 1-3 (116 battles you need to come 1-3 in and win)

8 min battles

So   233.3 * 8 = 5600/3 divided by 60 to get hours = 280/9 = 31.1 or 31 hours and 6 minutes (or with pass 15.5 hours which is 15 hours and 30 mins)

So I conclude that in order to get the full prize in Star Week you need to play the game for 31 hours or 15 hours depending on whether you buy the pass or not.

Note: This is /played time

So you'd need to play this game for 4.4 hours per DAY for a full week to get the prize. Or 2.2 hours per day to get the full prize

2.2 Hours that doesn't sound bad?  Remember this is 2.2 hours where you constantly win and come 1-3
failing that this time will significantly increase.

I acknowledge I may have mucked something up in the maths so check yourself and see if you can find any mistakes :)

I conclude that Star week's top prize requirement should be made half of what it is currently or even less 2.2 hours and 1.1 hours
is much better than 4.4 hours and 2.2 hours

Either that or give us a bigger reward like say... 100K crystals? Actually, Tanki would never do that, would they?
Even though you spent 31 hours of your life on their game :)

8 min battles

But i will take it up to:

battle = 0 -> 8

waiting time =  8 -> 11

two crap battles that load and make you lose time = 11 -> 15

waiting time for crap battles = 15 -> 21

when you find a crappy battle and actually become first but with 85 score = 21 -> 24

and waiting time for a crappy battle = 24 -> 27

additional lag = 27 -> 30

30

It can be played time but if life was also played time i would be 1 month old baby.

Let's not forget the fact that by the time you get those 700 stars, you would have also earned 30 containers, which is a massive amount considering the rewards you can get from them. The paint itself is a brand new animated paint every time, and animated paints used to sell for $60 each when they were first released. That's a pretty major cosmetic that you can earn for free, so obviously the requirement to get it must be huge, otherwise the paint will instantly lose its value.

The majority of players are not expected to earn 700 stars during these events. If you are a casual player, who doesn't normally spend more than 2 hours on games per day, I recommend that you ignore the rewards and simply play as much as you normally would if the star event wasn't there. That way you will just get a few extra containers on top of what you get from missions, as well as the additional bonus from double battle funds, more common gold boxes, and discounts. I don't see a point in spending the whole week worrying about stars and stressing out to try and earn the highest reward.

An important factor is the game's economy. Keeping the prize requirements high allows developers to hold these events fairly often, without giving players too much free stuff. It can't be too easy to get the rewards otherwise players will no longer need to spend money as they will get everything they need for free with minimal effort.

They should really make a separate battle button for those who want to participate in star week then if they want to keep doing them.

I acknowledge your response in terms of keeping the value of the events but is there not a way to make it so that you can earn the rewards ( with much difficulty ) but not take so long like 31 hours even a dedicated player would not spend 4.4 hours per day. Maybe not make it super easy but a tone down would be much appreciated. Say for example 3 hours per day. Another thing is that unless you are a world class player you will take much longer than this. That means that 4 hours per day really is an understatement. This means that it may take longer say 5 hours even.

This is a way too long, playing tanki would get boring. And the $60 paint is not at all worth it.

Replying to your point about the animated paints. In my opinion, animated paints are fairly common anyway. In fact, I have two myself from containers :)

My point is that containers make getting animated paints easy as you only need to play a minimum of 8 minutes as it is possible to complete missions in 1 battle. Do that for 7 days you spent 56 mins and you have 4 chances (week 10) to get a cool paint. So eventually you will get the paints.

In conclusion what you have said has been very useful it has helped me understand the need for the high requirement.

But I am still unsatisfied and would like a significant reduction in the requirement.

PS: DON'T NERF CONTAINERS !!

You'd be surprised how many people spend that long on a regular basis, even without any special events.

It's up to developers to decide how much time they think players should spend to get the rewards. They have the data, so if they find that players are not spending as much time as expected, they may tone down the requirements. But as of right now, they are encouraging players to purchase the easy stars pass during this event (generating revenue), or play for a long time and thus generate website traffic.

But I am still unsatisfied and would like a significant reduction in the requirement.

Wouldn't we all?  :lol:

15-30 hours for highest prize is fine IMO. Consider how much playtime it takes for you to save up for a turret or hull.

Having equipment unlock at the same rank is a terrible idea. It was done with M3s, royally screwing over everyone who was on the transition ranks between M2 and M3.
