New Missions, Drones Update

     Out of the three mission systems you've introduced, this one is BY FAR the worst. I can get very few drugs now, and I'm forced to save the little drugs that I own and be cannon fodder to some RTL account. With the weekly mission chains, I knew I was getting a somewhat reliable source of supplies. Now, I have to grind my butt off to get 500 kills for 5 drugs, which will hardly replace what I used! I have moved to no drug pro battles now and don't even do missions.

 

     If you didn't release this update I would spend some money on some Gold box packs during Black Friday. Now, because of your sheer stupidity, I'm closer to quitting the game than ever, and might even give WOT a second chance because at least there you need skill and not "who uses the most drugs and has the OP turret wins"

I already quit with this account, jut too much greif and everything relying on sheer dumb luck.  The game in the higher ranks (maybe not M4 land) has just turned to luck mush.  IF you get put on the winning team..IF you get a do-able mission...IF the rank brackets don't place you seven ranks below everyone else...IF the game doesn't crash...IF you don't lose 75% of your team as the game plays out....IF you are using suitable equipment for the map you are tossed into...IF you are tossed into a full game instead of the last two minutes...IF you are not pitted against Big Bickie Barry the Big Bucks Buyer...If the opposition doesn't have maniac druggers all replete with drones...IF...IF...IF.  It has turned into 50% luck 40% equipment and 10% skill.  I liked it much better when it was 70% skill, 20% equipment, and 10% luck.

 

I still play Tanki, but in lower ranks.  I have found the missions get ridiculous at rank 10.  At rank 9 and below the missions are pretty easy to do and generate enough income to stay competitive...maybe even excel if you hit a lucky container.  I just started a newbie account and will discar it at level 10...I'm trying to get better with a RailGun in my newbie acct.

After I wrote this I went back and played a couple of battles with a higher ranked acct.  I haven't played in a few days.  This game is gone.  It's not even close to fun.  I played because I was in the habit of playing.  The game is broken.  It's to ADHD oriented and too much luck.    I want to live long enough to make some sort of strategy, get to know my team and the opponents strengths and weaknesses.  Tanki will not die because of promotions, mobile, 9 year old appeal, and whatever little trick they pull out of their hat, but the game is trash now.  It's a child's game only....their is not enough time in the upper ranks to even consider waht to do in a battle, all you can do is spawn in with guns blazing. 

 

The lower ranks are still kind of fun since they are a bit slower but even those are marginal.  AND, what is the point of working with a lower rank account if it is just going to turn into crap battles eventually?    I would guess my days with Tanki are numbered...what a shame to have lost omething that used to be so much fun.

Says it all, really.

 

Community helpers, please read this and relay it back to your masters.

They said the rewards would be higher for the more difficult daily missions but now instead of getting 15 mines/speedboosts I am getting 30 mines/speedboosts.... is that what you call a bigger reward? Is all of the extra effort put into the game now only for that??

 

Seriously, just before the weekly missions update some fairly difficult daily missions (but not nearly as hard as now) would give me 4000+ crystals. Now I never see numbers like that, only supplies and a maximum 3000 crystals for really annoying missions.

 

Also place in one of the top three spots in a winning team for 15 battles is impossible. 

 

 

I could rant for hours about this new system ... but I won't. Because it still has one positive side, which is that players won't be getting that many free supplies anymore, meaning that MM may in the future not involve this much drugging.

It's pretty obvious that Tanki management is incompetent.  Your observation about rapid turn over is another piece of evidence.  I would guess they are pretty disorganized and  not a very good company to work for.  Any company that has so little regard for their customers probably has very little respect or regard for their employees.   One of the worst part about capitalism.

I'm still playing most days on my rank 9 account because the missions are usually easy, often doing 3 a day. Not sure what I'll do when I reach rank 10 on that rank 9 account.

 

I've only earned 2 containers on just one of my other accounts (ranks 12, 14, and 16) since the update (nothing special in them). It's just such a grind.

ROTFL...I just had a funny thought as I read this. 

 

I am really looking forward the the next update...never happened before.  I have always dreaded any time Tanki mentions update because they are always so terrible and damage the game so badly...for two years I have dreaded the word "update"....always bad.  

 

Now I want an update, any update, because they just can't possibly make it worse!  Anything will be an improvement.

On the contrary, IMO this concept of Hull-specific Overdrives might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back, so to speak.

 

I strongly encourage Alterniva to postpone Hull Overdrives until after the New Year.

They need something "new" so player-numbers don't go down.  There's always a spike because people are curious, or hopeful.

 

And we're always disappointed.

By that logic, the Halloween mega-release should have been spread out over several weeks or even several months, with each release adding a couple of new drones, a new mission aspect, and/or a couple of new alterations. I think they should have done this.. The Halloween release was too much at once. Players are still reeling.

Yeah because you're getting extra 15 Speed boosts so that is a higher reward for ya. I don't understand why people expect something different? 

 

What I miss is - 100k crystal / XT missions...Everything is inside a stupid container now. Might as well begin to put maps into a container ... "CONGRATULATIONS YOU WON POLYGON MAP" dumbos.

It can be done in ~ 25-30 battles.   It's a lot better than the top-3 x15 which takes on average 60 battles.

I tried to play my BP account today, First Lieutenant DH.98 (Rail-Wasp), I managed to play two matches, assault, completing one mission of finishing two assault battles. I estimate it will take five or six battles to complete the remaining two missions. Then I will have meager progress on the weeklies. One is 10,000 points. I simply don't have time to play this lower level account each day. This new system is exceptionally discouraging. I simply can't justify playing it. I don't want to.

 

Over the last several months, the Wasp has been eliminated as a viable hull. The rail gun is still an effective turret, but it is so different from what it used to be. It doesn't make much sense to try BP now. It used to be an exciting combination. Now, it just respawns a lot, and it takes lots and lots of missions to hope to keep up with buyers. Can't do it. Can't find any reason to try.

Whereas you could get four battles done in one hour with the old system, you can now finish seven battles in less than an hour with the new system. You get rewards more often, so missions such as "earn crystals in battles" and "finish ___ in a battle" are easier, to an extent.

yupe i know that feeling also , I have it on another account . so basically if this weekly mission sits in box 1 it could take up to a month to collect leaving us out of 4 containers . it all depends on when we finally get it done. the less we do the less we get ,, but for tanki it's a win for those who don't complete weekly missions.. I thought these missions were to be easier not impossible .. its leaving a ugly pit in my stomach on why even bother doing them when some will take a huge length of time to complete... just scrap these new missions...

I think one of the things that is forgotten about the new missions system is that battles are shorter now. Whereas you could get four battles done in one hour with the old system, you can now finish seven battles in less than an hour with the new system. You get rewards more often, so missions such as "earn crystals in battles" and "finish ___ in a battle" are easier, to an extent.

The shorter the battles the more waiting time you have.  I really doubt you get 7 battles done in 1 hr.  Would not be surprised if it is close to 2+ minutes wasted time for every battle I get into. Then you might have to visit garage for each map you are placed into.  Could be 1-2 minutes there.

 

The rewards are also terrible - when you consider it can take 5-7 battles for just 1 daily mission.

Yeah because you're getting extra 15 Speed boosts so that is a higher reward for ya. I don't understand why people expect something different? 

Would prefer getting 30 DD or 30 DA, I even like it when I get batteries although I don't have a drone. The reward I desire is basically anything which comes in use during a battle and is worth all the extra effort I am putting now.

 

Speedboosts and mines are mostly useless and unsatisfying as rewards :/

it depends on the battles . sometimes when your catching a flag you need to speed on heavy hulls to move better and faster. for mines its great when you need to block your base to stop enemy's from taking your flag or in Assault on capping the flag at your base. so it depends and also there is a drone that places extra mines once you place one. this is great for team battles but not so good in DM unless your camping behind a house and you need both doors blocked then yea . in the past I was not a fan of mines or speed but now as the game changes . there working better in game play..

What the hell have you done now? I normally played tanki so i wrote i will get containers today. So i just finished the 10th mission and found out progress is 8/10?? why are you doing this? i have never paid money and i will never do it, stop trolling me.

That's true and you are correct in everything you said, but I believe it depends on playing styles too.

 

I rarely play defensive and that's why I find mines useless, and I stopped using Mammoth in MM battles cause it's too slow even with the speedboost, so now Viking (aka Hornet 2.0) is sadly my chosen hull for MM.

 

 

Well I won't expect the game to change its reward system just to please me so I don't really mind, but at least make the missions a bit easier? Like nerf them or something.  :unsure:

agreed I also use to play like your way before the system changed , now I find its harder to battle in DM battles without using mines cause now others use them .. for example going up a ramp I find the mines hiding on them or in bushes  . players are getting more sneaky where they plant them.

Depending on what floater mission you get it can easily take longer than the 20 missions...

If I log in, check the basics. Drop into the garage, consider options, make changes, and go back to the battle screen, now I click a mode and wait, and wait, and I've been logged on 15 minutes by the time I complete the first battle.

 

Now, I need a different mode, so I drop into the garage, make my changes, back to the battle screen and click the mode button. This time I get lucky, only 20 seconds wait. At the completion of the battle, it is 25, maybe 27 minutes logged in. I click the mode button again, and, wow, only 4 seconds. Oh, the battle has 3:30 left and I've been added to the hopeless team. Of course, I didn't notice the fact until there are only two minutes left, so I might as well finish. That battle completes, and I've made nearly no progress on any mission, and I've been logged on 33 minutes or so.

 

Need I go on?

 

It is ridiculous to assert seven battles takes only 56 minutes. Maybe six battles per hour, but not for most people, not most of the time. Remember, we come here for entertainment and, hopefully, relaxation. It isn't work. It isn't an assignment. Yet, to accomplish the missions and claim the rewards, most days will require more than one hour logged in. My assertion is, most players play between 3 and 5 hours per week, and I just don't see the average going up to 7 or 8.

 

Of course, I have no evidence. I cannot pull the stats. Maybe someone can. Maybe the information can be collected via some public means. If so, I'm sure there are plenty of candidates who can collate and analyze the data explain to me whether I'm right or wrong. (Maybe the devs will do so.)

 

In the meantime, I'd appreciate people being more realistic. 8-minute battles will require 10 to 15 minutes of the average player's time. Further, 8 minute battles do not accomplish as much as a longer battles. Of course, if the mission is stay in a battle, then the 3-minute hopeless spawnkill fest is as useful as any other battle (but more frustrating). In general, overall, only the most extreme and focused players are going average over about five battles per hour.
