There have been new modules, alterations, missions, containers, game modes, changes to battle funds, gold drop mechanisms and much more depending on how long were talking about.

Those are Overdrives for different hulls and they are now pretty close to release with the visual effects being currently tested on live servers.

There has been so many changes since you left....almost a year. I suggest you go to the Wiki and start doing some reading or catch up on some of the V-logs. Go to YouTube and search for Tanki Online V-logs.

I tried to update you a little on the Q&A section in-game. I really hope the information did help and you now know a little more about the most recent updates, especially the important ones. I also linked Patch Notes which will come in handy, allowing you to update yourself further. 
 
A great way to get the most important information, without having to read long texts, is to continue watching old TO V-logs and catch up on them — they're short and provide quite a bit of information.
 
Below is a linked V-log (#139), you can continue watching from here. There is no need to watch all of them, simply click on the titles that interest you the most (important information is displayed on the thumbnails of the videos). Some of it may be outdated, so best to make sure you do give a watch to the recent few V-logs too.
 
Adding on from that, we have a special topic for questions and answers where both players and moderators are actively answering players' questions. A great place to get your questions answered, should you have any. This is also linked below.

EDIT: Also noticed now that there are many alterations which is interesting, some are cheap so will use the useful ones, I dont know which weapons were nerfed or which hulls were buffed so have to check that too

Crazy weekends got replaced with star week hunts which are at least a week long (which is way too long)

 

And mission chains got replaced with weekly missions.

 

 

Also the option to rent an alteration was removed.

In a nutshell, battlefund does not exist anymore, instead crystals are calculated at the end of the battle based on the results. Now you get far more crystals per battle than previously and the gap in reward between the winning and losing team is much less.

seems like a bad time to return, game balance is non existent, pro battles are a mess, matchmaking is unreliable, new mission system just sucks in general. on a positive note containers are a decent source of income/supplies, fund distribution has been improved, and there's an event called war which gives away a decent amount of containers whether your team wins or not.

I noticed I earned more but still sad battlefund is removed.. also sad battlefund is removed. what about changes in game mode and goldbox? I noticed goldbox drops so fast and more game modes.. sad that goldbox drops so fast now the fun of waiting and racing to goldbox is gone..

 

 

I missed so much.. this game changed completely drones star currency... match making and so many other changes :/

Is it simple. New drones, new alterations. Do not buy them yet, they can get nerfed. Thunder and Smoky are OP due to 50% weak damage, use them.

It`s too long a list to make which bounds all updates which have taken place.

There's a concept of drones, there are alterations aplenty, turrets have aesthetic features which make their shots colorful..

In essence, a lot of stuff to cover.
