Let Freezing Effects Match Shot Color

Recommended Posts

I don't know about you guys but it kind of trips me out to see a toxic freeze being sprayed on another player and the target turns blue. It feels so unnatural and it makes no sense.

Toxic Freeze ===> Green Freezing

Dark Moon Freeze ===> Dark Blue Freezing

Cold Freeze ===> Pure Blue Freezing w/o White

Snow Freeze ===> Pure White Freezing w/o Blue

Default Freeze ===> Current Light Blue

Valid

Definitely in support of this, putting this idea into effect would make the game look much better, and it pretty much makes no sense for a toxic freeze to say bad things about firebirds spray blue ice upon collision with a tank.

This could make players confused.

Right now if you're blue - you're freezing, if you're red - you're burning. Pretty simple. The shot colour effects make the game more confusing as is, but if you're being attacked and you turn black, and you have no idea whether it's a black freeze or black firebird then there's a problem.

If you start moving more slowly. its a freeze. If your taking extra damage then its a firebird and your dead. I guess it could take a split second longer to notice it, which can make a difference.

Why not do the same thing with burning effects.

You see, no matter what color fire you burn, the metal underneath it (in this case the tank) will always burn red. But since the Freezing is not actual ice, instead a mixture of chemicals including freon, it should have the same color as the shot.

If the guy is shooting you with a freeze, you're being frozen. If the guy is shooting you with a firebird, you're being burned. The projectiles of freeze and firebird look different, so it shouldn't be that hard to differentiate.

That would make sense if the game was realistic. But then turrets like freeze, isida, twins, ricochet wouldn't even exist.

But since tanki isn't a realistic game, I see no reason not to do the same thing for firebird.

But this is a freeze topic.
