Squidjy snail...the Whole Story

 Share

Recommended Posts

Once upon a time, there was a snail named Squidjy. One day, Squidjy crawled up a tree. From the tree, Squidjy sat in his snaily way, watching monks in a monastery. Suddenly, Squidjy slipped on his trail of slime and jell onto a monk. "Pip save me!" cried the monk, shaking Squidjy onto the ground. Once on the ground, Squidjy began taking evasive action to avoid being sliced up by the monk, who had pulled out a machete. Diving into a niche in the wall and hiding behind a bust of Pip, Squidjy cherished his few moments of safety.

According to legend, Pip was a porcupine with a finicky appetite for mealwors. He lived in a huge manor, with ten acres of land, situated just outside the great citadel of Kip. Pip took Kip and threw him over a great precipice, killing him, and freeing the people of Kip's unjust and evil rule. Therefore, the people of the citadel of Kip worshipped Pip, and made bumper stickers saying: "Don't bump my car, it's got quills!"

Suddenly, the whipping sound of the machete slicing through Pip's bust shook Squidjy out of his reverie. Squidjy then squirmed from the niche and made a mad dash to the top of the wall. However, before he reached the top, Squidjy was squished by the machete. How fast can snails go?

THE END

I found the story surprisingly funny and ironic. You foreshadowed in the midst of the story with the phrase : ''He cherished his few moments of Safety,'' that something misfortunate was going to happen to him- most commonly death from Machete-wielding Monk.
