Tanki Radio - new purchasable DLC

Recommended Posts

Cosmetics are all about the visuals but I have thought of a new cosmetic that the devs can create to make money, make the community happy, and be new. This "cosmetic" is all about new sounds instead of new visuals (even though visuals is in the definition of cosmetic)

Introducing the Tanki Radio! Each FM station can only be unlocked through purchase or containers. There will be a few stations for the radio for now:

Pop (2 USD/each)

1. American Pop

2. Latin Pop

3. Russian Pop

4. Euro Pop

5. Asian Pop

Rock (2 USD/each)

6. Classic Rock

7. Pop Rock

8. Metal

9. Punk Rock

Rap (2 USD/each)

10. R&B

11. Mumble Rap

12. Gangsta Rap

News (2 USD/each)

13. CNN

14. Fox

15. RT (what russia uses)

16. BBC

TO (Free)

17. TO Theme Song (more commonly referred as the TX song) on repeat

Beginner's Guide Radio (Free)

18. Developers Beginner's Guide

19. Player/Mod Run Beginner's Guide

Sports (3 USD/each)

20. ESPN

21. NBC *only available during olympics*

The Tanki Radio will have an area right under supplies where you can adjust what station you are listening to. Now, you're game doesn't have to lag because of an extra opened spotify or youtube tab. Or, you could listen to the news while you are drugging hard in a battle.

Now, you could listen to Despacito or Africa while camping.

Please do not merge, 100% the most original topic I've seen.

Valid

Not sure if you meant this as a joke or not, but this feature actually exists in other games. At least in "Cities: Skylines", where you have 3 basic radio stations and you can purchase more as DLCs for about $5 each. I don't know if it's a viable strategy for Tanki and I'm almost certain it won't implemented, but it's a valid idea nonetheless.

Why would people pay for a free thing? The only reason you have written is lag, but I don't think using youtube/spotify causes lag unless you have 1 MB internet speed.

My bad Maf, I missed a lot of details because I was in a rush when I was posting this idea (probably why it looks like a joke)

The radio not only goes off in your tank but other tanks near your proximity will also be able to listen music that you are blasting in your tank (so as opposed to youtube or spotify, this will allow other people hear what you are listening to). This would be extra cool for rank ups and celebrations or could just make regular battles more fun.

All players should have the power to request songs and a moderator should be able to adjust the songs being played to match what is in demand.

Yes, many games have a DLC feature for, even GTA.

WoT played battle tunes (I haven't played it in a while, so I don't know if they still do). I always turned it off because I found it distracting. As for hearing the music the teammate next to me is listening to, that would be distracting as well. If that person is playing Metal, Punk Rock or Rap, I would go find someplace else to camp. Then supposing one player is listening to a fav station and the teammate next to him is playing another fav station? Who would try to drown out whom?

I get 52 music stations on my TV through cable. If I want to listen to music, I'll turn that on. Why don't you ask Santa for an MP3 player, a Boom Box or a stereo outfit for Christmas? Don't forget the headphones or earbuds so you don't disturb others while you're blasting away.
