stop wasting time with stupid videos and livestreams

Recommended Posts

so usually every week we get a vlog that updates us about the game in 10 minutes... this is good for us because 10 minutes is not too long, although we could read the whole thing more quickly if it were just written out. also, the problem with this is that the vlog team takes a long time to make it and don't always have the time. and even if they do, we still have to wait for them to finish it to get the news.

now, when they don't have the time to make the vlog, we get a livestream instead, which is waaay too long. it's good for promo codes but that's it.

the problem with both of the above is that sometimes we already know some of the things but still have to listen to it again.. sometimes we already know every single thing in a vlog so we end up wasting 10 minutes listening to stuff we already know of.

how about just make another section in the news and announcements category beside the patch notes called "latest updates" and put whatever latest updates in there whenever the devs decide to reveal them. they can still do vlogs for people who like to watch them and livestreams for promo code diggers like me.

I don't see any benefit adding this proposed section, and you didn't explain how it would be better than what we have.

An important thing is that the reason we sometimes get livestreams is not because devs have no time for a V-log, but because there is simply not enough interesting info to include. If we got another V-log this week, it would be the same things all over - "the mobile version is released in a few more countries, sorry overdrives are delayed, here's some boring esports news". So instead there was a livestream where previous information (overdrives and challenges) was explained in more detail, as well as other questions answered.

You don't "have to" listen to the livestream - no one is forcing you.

we don't have to wait till friday? also, the vlog is around 5-10 minutes, but if it were written out we can read it in 2 minutes. another thing is that we don't know how long to skip to if they're talking about something we already know. if it were written out we can simply choose to read only the stuff we don't know about yet.

to get the latest updates  have to. I am proposing a more efficient way.

you don't "have to" be admin/helper, no one is forcing you. you don't have to play this game. you don't even have to be here. so never suggest anyone to do anything because you can simply leave anytime

Some people dont like reading text walls, and they might not bother to pay attention to updates if it wasnt for the Vlog.

as i said, they can still do the vlogs for those people. this idea is an additional feature, not a replacement.

So the only change you want is to move the Vlogs to a different section? I feel like Im missing the point, or this is just another troll topic.

He wants a text-based announcements section where developers post about upcoming plans. Like the V-log news segment, but as a forum topic.

Guido, you're in the minority here. Most people prefer more audio-visual sources to find out new information, so a text-based news section won't be very popular. If you don't want to watch the V-log and only want the new stuff, then just watch the beginning, or skip the parts you don't want using arrow keys.

thank you for explaining for me

how do you know I'm in the minority? do you need me to start a petition about this? if you have actual statics that most players prefer to wait tilll friday to watch a whole video over directly reading about something sooner than I'll admit that this idea is useless.

It's a well-known fact that visual information has a lot more audience retention than text. I agree that text has numerous advantages when it comes to conveying information, but in this situation the V-log is a much better way of doing it.

I don't have actual statistics from the game, but there have been dozens of studies on the subject, and they all agree that people prefer to get information via video as opposed to text.

No one has ever asked for this before, you can't really say you aren't in the minority if there's no proof of anyone else having the same opinion as you.

so basically, i can say anything i want to as long as you can't prove against it.

okay, you're nipples are 5 meters long. prove that they aren't
