Do Aliens really exist?

In another Dimension.

Is Water Wet?

Water is Nature's Quantum Superposition.  <--look it up...interesting stuff.

*Sorry for getting scientific, here is an easier answer:

Yes,but no.

How high is the sky?

Difficult to answer.

Anything above 60-65 miles is considered "space", Although Earth's Stratosphere is located anywhere from 10-45 miles up. Above that is Earth's Ionosphere (Which is actually Ionized by solar radiation) which starts 100 miles up, and continues to about 600 miles.

So, your answer:

The sky is 600 miles high, unless you have bad eyesight. In that case its as far as you can see.

If tomatoes are fruits, why do they not go in fruit salad?

Another one of Nature's Superposition. Depending on who you ask they could be a fruit or vegetable. But you did not come here for some random person's opinion, you came here for mine.

Tomatoes are both fruit and vegetable. Why do they not go in fruit salad? Who said they don't? Give it a try.

Answer: They actually can/do.

Is fire on fire?

Technically yes. You can always make fire hotter with oxygen. and a fuel source.

For example:

If you add Dicyanoacetylene to a fire it will explode into Carbon Powder and Nitrogen gas and burn inside Oxygen (thus putting fire to the fire). This produces a bright blue-white flame at a temperature of 4990°C (9010°F), which is the hottest fire of any known chemical reaction.

Answer: Not unless you add substance to the flame.

I like his enthusiasm, but since it did not come from me and does not co-inside with my response, it will be considered false information (aka Fake News) in this thread. JK. Believe what you want.

But I give you props for the vid. ;)

If you write a book about failure, and it doesn't sell, is it called success?

You have success in that during your failure, at least you know your doing it right. But you have failure in terms of Financial and social success regarding the book.

Answer:

POV #1: You succeed at failure just as written in the book, setting an example for everyone else.

POV#2: Your book is a failure. It does not sell. No one will even know you followed your own guide to failure. #Fail

why is it that when you transport something by land, you call it shipment? while when you transport something by sea, you call it cargo?

There really is no difference. You see the definition for load is;

-anything put in or on something for conveyance or transportation; freight; cargo - Dictionary.com

-the quantity that can be carried at one time by a specified means -Merriam-Webster.com

The word load can be referred to anything in transportation.

If you are wanting to know the difference between land and ship transportation, then you would look at the words "Freight" and "Cargo".

Freight; A load to be transported by semi-trailer.

Cargo; A load to be transported by ship or Aircraft.

Answer:

There is no difference.

are all liquids wet?

is lava a liquid

and if yes to both of those, does that mean lava is wet?

#1 No. Mercury.

#2 Depends on what you mean. This substance originates from below the earth as "Magma". Once magma reached earth's surface it is now called "Lava".

Yes, Magma is a liquid underneath the earth. Once reaching earths surface it starts to solidify into Igneous Rock. But not as fast as you might think. You see, lava is able to travel so far in distance without turning to rock because of its Thixotropic and shear thinning properties. Which means that lava has Viscosity. And Viscosity is the measure of a fluid's resistance to gradual deformation by shear stress or tensile stress.

So in short, lava has Viscosity. And Viscosity is a scientific term that describes the resistance to flow of a fluid.

#3No, lava is not a substance that can saturate, nor can be saturated.

Answer:

1. No.

Examples: Mercury, Sapphire Flame ******ant, Liquid Nitrogen.

These liquids cannot saturate nor can be saturated.

2. Yes. Due to its Viscosity.

3. No, lava is not a substance that can saturate nor can be saturated.

In some high rise buildings and skyscrapers, why are the numbers associated with 4 and 13 omitted? Floors 4, 13, 44, 113.

The plain simple answer is superstition.

The number 4 is usually associated with Chinese superstition.

According to real estate specialists in Asia, Its is common that the number four is considered unlucky. In some Chinese/Asian Dialects this word unlucky can be similar to and translated as "Death". So they omit 4th flour as well as the 44th flour. They also don't want to spook any westerns with their equivalent number 13 (and I assume they omit 113 for that same reason), so they commonly omit that number as well.

As for Western sky-rises most hotels omit the 13th floor due to peoples' Triskaidekaphobia (The fear of the number 13). Omitting this floor saves visitors with this phobia from having to go through all the symptoms;  nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, rapid heartbeat, sweating and feelings of panic.

According to Otis elevators, up to 85 percent of elevator panels omit the number 13.

Although this is usually only the case for Hotels, as businesses commonly use the 13th floor.

Answer:

Superstition.

Why is sand called sand? B)

The word sand comes from Old English, Proto-Germanic word "sandam" (Also from Old Norse "sandr", Old Frisian sond, and many more).

As to when the word "Sand" was originally used to describe that fine unstable ground beneath our feet at the beach, no one really knows. For a long time there was no distinction between sand and gravel.

Eventually the word came to describe something finer than gravel, but coarser than dust.

Some argue the word come from the fact the sand is located between the sea and land, but lets face it. Why would someone name this fine material based on the fact that it is located on the beach side, when the majority of sand is located in the large deserts of this world. This Argument is Invalid.

Fun Facts:

#1 The Sahara Desert it the world's 3rd largest desert. It occupies 3.3 million square miles which is 30% of the continent of Africa. Only 25% of it is sand dunes. The rest is rocks.

#2 The Romans used to cover their fighting pits in sand, so that the blood would drain away.

Answer:

It just came into existence like the Big Bang .

The Answer You Want:

Sand is located between Sea and Land.

The word "Down" is subjective. Your down is different than my down. It all depends on your location and wheather your facing North, South, East, West, or somewhere in between.

Answer:

If you truly want to know which way is down, then look up. Its opposite from that.

If your upside down (.-.) , then Down is the direction of the force of gravity. Unless you live in Mount Aragats..

A house has all 4 walls facing North.

#1...Where is the house located?

#2...What color is the bear behind it?

Answer:

1) South Pole

2) There are no bear species located in the South pole.

All I know is that I know nothing. How do I know this?

You are Nothing. Out of everything that exists in this world, you, my friend, are nothing. No matter how big you think you are, you are truly nothing.  And if you are nothing, how can you claim to know everything (knowledge), or even most things? So If you can't even claim to know most things, you most likely can't claim to know 50% of most things. In fact, it is impossible to know even 25% of everything.

If you can't know 25% of everything, can you claim to know 15%? Even if you could claim 15%, or maybe even 25%. There is still 75-85% of knowledge you do not know. If you can not possible even know 50%, Then you really know nothing. And you can, with 100% positivity, know that you know nothing.

Ahhh Possibly one of the World's most infamous Quotes. When someone praised Socrates for being the wisest man in the world, he replied with "I know that I know nothing".  Because how can one possibly know the majority of everything? This statement is actually known as a "Socratic Paradox" along with its equal statement: "what I do not know I do not think I know".

There has been claims that Socrates was actually psychopathic. Some say the phrase can be translated to; "I know one thing: that I know no one" - no one else aside of himself.

Answer:  If you cannot know the Majority of everything (knowledge), Then you know nothing.
