New unlock rank for shop kits - the death of F2P?

To be fair it's not that bad.

There used to be kits which made it possible to have M4s at Lieutenant Colonel, and I myself had Thunder M3.5 after buying Bulldozer kit.

So not a lot has changed at the higher ranks. However, the ability to have M2s at Grefreiter is rather worrying. How are new players supposed to cope with that level of P2W?

Surely Tanki developers have gone mad.

Some more - Keeper kit is 3 ranks, the Hunter M1-Freeze M2 is 4 ranks earlier - M3s at Master Sergeant...

You're right about Keeper, which shows us this was not just 'sell all kits in Shop two ranks earlier', but a deliberate nod to mean buyers.

For the Siberian kit I'm counting two ranks...

I am completely free to play. I can argue for or against your claim here because I'm kind of sitting on top of the fence on this issue.

Yes, F2P is dead: The death of F2P is already upon us. I virtually cannot progress at all on my alternate accounts because I simply cannot compete against the massive amounts of buyers + MMS on my lower ranked accounts. I'm only able to progress on this, my main account, because I already had a solid m3 garage by the time all the P2W updates came and I could already compete to a certain extent.

No, F2P is still a thing: Although the game is becoming more and more P2W, the recent Daily Missions + Containers updates allow me to have already a solid heap of crystals and enough crystals to buy the next modifications on my combo ranks before I even reach that rank. However, that said, buyers will still be able to M4s and I have to play them with M1s on my lower account.

To be honest, me and about a 1000 other free 2 play players who are largely active are the last of our kind/generation in this game. We are already dying out and probably by the time I'm gone, all of the other F2P players will have left too, and then by that time this game is 100% P2W.

This game is F2P in the aspect that you don't have to pay money to join and nothing says you have to buy anything. There's a Legend with an M0 garage and over a million crystals. Tanki says that he is not a saboteur since he has nothing higher than M0s. His K/D stinks, though. I have no idea how long it took him to reach his rank. I forgot to mention that his hull is an M1.

Seems to me what the Devs are trying to do is make buyers out of very low rankers. The sooner they can latch on to that card the more apt buying will become habitual.

Tanki made an oopsie...

But for real, fighting against M2 equipment at ranks where you barely know what's going on around you is a nightmare. I hope new players get a compensation for this someday.

Isn't leaving the game and not coming back compensation?

Tanki should maybe limit the amount of accounts you can have at a time. That way, noob buyers wouldnt completely dominate at low ranks. Because that is why TO is dying. Players come into the game thinking "Hey, this game looks fun, ill give it a try." After the first couple of battles they get absolutely creamed by alt account guys and quit the game within the hour.

Whichever is making these decisions is ruining this game. This update is shockingly bad and saw no announcement of it, no wonder. There is no way I'd want to play this game as a real newbie F2P or small-time buyer. Drug kits in shop for buyers and now equipments like Drones, OP turrets and expensive modules. I agree that this is a Pay-to-Win game. Such a shame that this once great game went down this path.

"Expensive modules" IKR! WTH was Alternativa thinking?! Balancing the game by making modules mad expensive?!

If I work for Alternativa and here this repetitive complaint of this game going P2W, I would make modules cheaper again, but one condition....

MMS was a huge mistake. TO could have smoothly transitioned into a solid 90% P2W majority without causing major problems for the F2P and have them leave. However, now players cannot view or control what ranks they are playing against in MMS so F2P will inevitably play tanks that are 2 modifications above their current combo.

Protection modules/paint separation update was also a huge mistake. First of all, obviously most paints are a waste of code and space, which used to be extremely popular paints due to the protections they came with. Second, the prices for the top garage paints skyrocketed, the most expensive being 500k crystals, which is completely unreasonable for a garage paint (even zeus) when there are cooler container or buyer paints to purchase, so at the end of the day, no one uses garage paints anymore and 95% of players use a shop paint.

Now on to the buyer portion of this argument, the 250k crystals m3 modules are justified in their own manner but the problem entirely could be avoided if the devs removed features or made major changes to past updates with major refunding, which they don't (except for 2012 rebalance). The current module system is that expensive because if everyone was able to get plenty of modules, the strongest turrets or most common turrets would become the weakest because everyone would be using the same protections against the most statistically-able turret. So, for example, probably firebird, railgun, and twins would become the most underpowered turrets right now if everyone had access to all protection modules because that's basically a default double armor on that can receive another double armor on top of that. That said, they are so expensive to the point that only P2W players would have all of them at M4 and F2P would have 2, 3, or 4 of them at slightly above M3 at most. That is a humongous difference because the P2W is guaranteed to be able to have a 50% counter against whatever the F2P has while the F2P barely has a chance against the P2W. On top of that, the P2W already has superior equipment than the F2P in terms of turret/hull, inevitably making the F2P extremely weak against the P2W. To best witness this, go play an Island CTF or CP as a F2P player against 3 legends. Your entire enemy team will have 50% protection against you and your 2 teammates.

The best way to fix this issue is for (in my opinion):

Module prices to be cut by 60% (250 000 crystals ===> 100 000 crystals).

Refund to all players who owned modules (probably not 150 000 crystals for each module but about 40 000 i guess maybe idk).

Only 2 modules usable at a time instead of 3.

I don't think Brigadier is too early to get M3's, I mean you used to get Isida & Thunder M3 at Brigadier rank as well and then there was those old M3 kits, You could get M3 even before Brigadier, but one can get the M1/M2 kits way too early, That I agree with.

*used to* ......that was years ago like 1.5-2 years I think.....that time everyone who was collecting money could get M3s at brigadier so it was free for everyone....but now ONLY people who wish to burn their money in the game can get that....if they introduce M3 kits in shop at brigadier they should introduce it in garage at brigadier too.

Siberian kit at rank before wo1, at wo2 -you can get isida hornet m2 kit and ugrade to m3, at wo3 you can get rail+hornet or rail+dictator m2 kit and upgrade to m3....RIP for non buyers....developers are constantly ruining the game...

Um... For M4 module cost should revert back to pre-Drone update. Meaning it would take 99980 crystals to upgrade. However, you can only use modules based on what turret you are equipping. That includes Vulcan.

Yes wolverine, I totally heard you said Alternativa is not going to remove triple modules, but P2W have a lot higher advantage vs F2P AND that’s basically making someone’s turret underpowered.

Vulcan’s overheating mechanism will be changed :The overheating damage will be 50% of Vulcan’s DPS.

Example: M4 Vulcan’s DPS is 600. When overheating, you take 300 damage per second. This can be mitigated by M4 Shark module, allowing you only take 150 overheat damage per second. This of course is illogical, but it’s for the sake of fairness to other tankers.

Me as a Shaft-Hornet, I almost ALWAYS only use Eagle despite of me own two other modules. That fairness however, many people did not accept my idea..... And.... led to a K/D of 0.90.....

Ever since Drone update, I always resent this drone nonsenses and overpriced module. Drugging is already enough, with drones..... more problems....

Let me get back on topic: Pretend I spent 450k just upgrading Eagle module to M4. If Alternativa accepts my idea, I will get approximately 350k crystals refund.

Or other case when I spent 100k for upgrading Eagle from fresh M3 to M4 (before drone update), 350k refund is basically a HUGE bargain.

Yes I am a buyer and my crystals is sitting over 1 million, but I decide not to buy anything except waiting for upgrading Centaur kit when reaching to Lt. General.

I haven't earned that many crystals collectively in my entire lifetime. Edited by Viking4s
