An example of how game can run perfectly WITHOUT MATCHMAKING

So here is example of a game which doesnt have matchmaking: ScrapTD.

It uses only and ONLY ONE RULE:

Dont be matched with same player twice in row

 

So guess what? I have 1000 trophies on most of my accounts, and 2100 on best one being in top 100 list, this game pairs me with both total braindead noobs and top 1 player. And? If i lose against someone much stronger i lose 5 trophies & he gets 5, if i win its +43 for me -40 for him. Equal players matched up lose 20 for loss & gain 23 on win. Perfect but simple rating system.

So why the hell do I compare tower defense to drug wars?

JUST ADD FEW DAMN BASIC RULES AND REMOVE MATCHMAKING.

 

Best possible equipment GS (turret 1500, hull 1500, protections 333 each)

with drone(500)

& your average supply score of last 10 matches (1 supply used = 3 score, max 500 score)

will be your unique 0-5000 GS matchmaking rank.

 

GS delta must be maximum 1000 between all players (equivalent to 6 ranks).

 

Total GS difference between teams has to be below 2000.

 

Match doesnt start until all places are filled.

 

Discard everything else!! Thats it, perfect, best, fastest matchmaking ever.

I don't think it was so much of MM that's the problem but how and in what circumstances it was implemented.

Not enough players to make it work properly.

 

They could start by:

- tightening up rank brackets

- Relegate JUG/Assault/RGBY to Pro-Battles.  Less division of players in MM = better chance for good balance.

 

That's just the start mind you...

That's what I meant, but they shouldn't just make the modes that you mentioned exclusive to pro battles, they should also make ctf and tdm exclusive to pro battles as well as these two mostly have spawn killing in them.

Juggernaut, Rugby and perhaps Assault mode must be removed from the matchmaking list since they have a lot of player base. They are unneeded modes. Removing them from MMs and making matchmaking according to GS would totally solve the problem, makes sense IMO.

CTF and TDM should be stayed, CTF is one of the best modes in MM.

People will start exploiting gear score when done like this. Wearing M0 in Legends ranks and then swapping after they join.

 

PS: I would, why wouln't others?

Best possible equipment GS

So basically it counts best possible equipment you have, and wearing too low equipment (like m0 if you already have m3, while m2 is ok and strong m1 + m2 is bare minimum depending on situation) can also be used for detecting sabotage very easily if your GS DURING BATTLE CHANGES TOO MUCH. GS is very good if its properly used, which is not the case now.

It should track average of your last 10 battles and adjust imaginary rank that way.

CTF is by far the most popular mode.  No way it can be relegated to Pro-battles.   MM would wither away...

Never gonna happen.

Then fix it.   You have more than enough feedback on the many issues.

Ok so why not rename the current ASL to Attackers VS Defenders (AVD)

 

And make a new version of ASL where there is 3 flags on each team, one ball and many control points all over the map.
