Lower the age limit to become a battle mod to 15

Recommended Posts

I think this would be an amazing idea, as long as you are qualified for the job I see no reason you shouldn’t have it. I myself, have caught TONS of hackers and probably gotten over 100 banned. I’m very good at seeing if a player is hacking or if it’s just a lag. As long as you are responsible and don’t abuse your power I don’t see anything wrong with it.

Declined.

First off, ideas regarding the modification of any kind of helper acceptance criteria are always going to be in vain, because the criteria is always set and maintained by the respective group administrator. And secondly, lowering the age limit would bring immature people to apply, only based on the fact that they meet the criteria. Age depicts experience and maturity, something which everyone seeks even in later ages and only a few ever find. I don't think the battle administrators are particularly keen on looking for the 'needle in a haystack' situation.

The people who put those age limits in place have had years of experience with testing new candidates of various ages, and they concluded that the current age restriction is the most optimal for each group. Of course there are always exceptions and outliers in any group, and I'm sure there are some 14-year-olds who are more suitable for the position in terms of personality and attitude than some particularly immature 20+ players. But the reality is that it's not worth allowing younger ages to apply because for every good younger candidate there will be a hundred rejections, so it's not worth wasting time on processing their applications.

Would be risky. I'm 15, and I can be VERY toxic at times. I'd love to be chat mod (sometimes) but...don't wanna abuse my power.

Or you could just lie about your age

Well, if you lie about your age, you can have a chance of never being able to be a helper again. No matter what, tell your real age! It will save you the trouble and frustration.

Ehh, well... personally I am very good at keeping myself reserved and quiet, but if I do need to step into something to fix it, I will step in and I will fix it quick. I can/will fix it so quick you won't even have time to know what happened ;) I am also very good at working very fast, while at the same time, being very efficient with my work. I am an absolute powerhouse of a person and can take huge loads of stress with little backfire. Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a personal narrative about myself, so I will keep mum (quiet) now, and make an idea for clans in I&S Clans.

I know exactly 0 children (because no offense, you are a child at 15) that are mature enough at 15 to be trusted with the role of a Battle Moderator.

Hell, I don't know many 18 year olds that I think would be mature enough to be a BM.

The more you talk, the more I'm convinced that you would not make a very good Battle Mod. Whether or not you realize it, this is what you have said:

1...Your quiet and reserved.

2...When things aren't going right, you make it right...whatever it takes. You work very quickly...."you won't even have time to know what happened"....without taking the time to assess the situation and mentally list the pros and cons of your actions. Consequences don't always happen right away. Don't forget, you would be dealing with real people with different stress factors. Some people aren't very nice when they are told they are in the wrong. That can be extremely stressful.

3...You say you can take loads of stress with little backfire. When that stress builds up, what do you do with it? Some people say that stress doesn't bother them or they can take a lot of stress. But after awhile that stress builds up and needs to be released. What type of safety valve do you have? Your stress factor alone would make me question how well you deal with people on a "bad day" or whether or not you have had enough experience with negative emotions to be able to handle them when the time arises.

Nope, your not ready for that type of position. You need to mature a lot more mentally and psychologically.

There are 2 types of taking stress - explosive and implosive.

Most people are explosive so when they get stress, they immediately start to shout and use profanities.

The other people are implosive. When they take stress, they slowly 'charge' like a battery. When they get fully charged, they can do whatever you can ever think about.
