Thoughts on the F-35: Waste of money/resources or good plane?

The F-15 is still serviceable as an all-around and still holds its place in air-superiority. It even has a satellite-killer configuration. I would leave the stealth to the F-117A since they are unarmed for air-to-air combat and mostly perform covert missions under the cloak of darkness. IMHO, the F-35 is overpriced for its function and ability.

sucks imo, i dont really like the design of it, top speed is Mach 1.6 while others are almost Mach 2

the only good thing might the fuel capacity, F 35C can hold 20000 pounds of kerosene while most dont go higher than 15000 pounds

F35 can carry upto 4 missiles while F16 can carry 6 and F15 can go upto 8

F35 also has higher fuel consumption than other fighter jets

for me, the raptor is my fav

Same ? . doesn't get much better than the f22. Naturally, the Russians tried to copy it a couple of years ago, but that project fell through the roof. Their still using su27s and MiG 29s over there I guess.

Yeah I feel like the only thing going for it is the F-35B's ability to hover. Other than that, it's kinda meh, and a really expensive one too. Got to talk to one of their pilots once and they even said the F-22 is better for dogfighting, etc. Just stick with what we have already instead of spending big bucks on a plane that has counterparts that can do a way better job at its jobs than it can.

F35 might be a good platform on which to build an export aircraft. It would have to be downgraded in order to cut costs and to not give buying nations equipment advantages over US aircraft, but even then a stealth fighter such as the f35 would likely attract some interest.

Su 27 and variants of them are honestly really nice as far as styling and design go. Their overall decent aircraft from what I've heard about them. Honestly though that chart is incomplete without . . .

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15

The Glorious MiG-15

My favorite airliner: The Queen of the Skies (Boeing747) maxresdefault.jpg

I love the 747 too... Here in Europe, just 2 passenger airlines still use them: Lufthansa and Rossyia.

That kind of reminds me of a Cessna 421, except for the fact that it has a T-tail.
