What is the difference between HTML5 and Flash?

HTLM5 is newer. The devs are working on moving to HTML5 because Flash will no longer be supported soon. (In 2020, I think.)

Also, please ask simple questions in the FAQ.

Why are the devs thinking of moving over to html5?

Tanki Online runs on Flash technology. In the near future, Adobe will stop updating Flash, because "open standards like HTML5 have matured over the past several years, most now provide many of the capabilities and functionalities that plugins pioneered and have become a viable alternative for content on the web". Now that it's possible to run games on HTML5 technoligy, Tanki Online is moving towards HTML5.

The only difference from the user's point of view when playing on HTML is that you don't need to install any plug-ins like Adobe Flash to run it, since HTML is native code for all internet browsers.

Hope this helps, if you want to know more about HTML5 and what new capabilities it brings, you might want to view this nice explanatory video. :)
