Supply boxes worth points and experience

Catch supply boxes does not give anything apart from the supply's effect. I would like supply boxes to give a certain amount of experience points to players. Catching supplies is a kind of skill, like gold catch, so experience points is worth having.

 

1. Repair Kit = 1 XP point.

 

2. Double Armor = 2 XP points.

 

3. Double Damage = 3 XP points.

 

4. Speed Boost = 4 XP points.

 

5. Mines = 5 XP points.

 

6. Batteries (Drone Batteries) = 1 XP per battery used.

 

7. Nuclear Energy = 6 XP points.

 

8. Gold boxes = 10 XP points

 

9. Containers = 100 XP points

 

Since containers very rarely drops in battles, by getting 100 XP points does not disturb the speed of which players rank up.

 

Catching boxes allows some fun, so I believe that each of the supply boxes are worth a number of points in battles. This suggestion is valid for both matchmaking and pro battles.

I suppose there is some logic here, but what are the benefits of this? The only thing you get is slightly faster ranking up, but no the other hand this may encourage sabotage because some players will be going for all the supply boxes they see, rather than taking just what they need and leaving the rest for teammates. Also, this requires time to implement, and I don't see it being worth developers' time.

There is a potential in this feature because for every action you do on the battlefield must give some experience and battle points.

 

This will not cause sabotage since the experience points are very small. This is not like gold boxes or containers, but rather an experience skills score in battles. My suggestion is to only suggest for players to earn experience points for every move they make, such as collecting supply boxes.

Well, I am OK with this if this doesn't get into the score table. For example, I kill players, capture the flag and do everything and am about to get 6 stars by finishing 1st. Then, this guy collects a few boxes and gets the 1st place. Then I get 4 stars instead of 6, this would really make me angry.

Catching Gold box is a challenges, so the skills to catch one should be rewarded with XP.

For the others supplies it is a really bad idea, players will pick them up to get (small) XP benefit to the detriment of the team.

I know there is not particular skill in catching supply boxes. The only skills are the amount of experience given to players. Players would earn a different experience value for catching different types supply boxes.

Low ranks would have to avoid picking up Supplies if they don't want to rank up faster, while for Legends it'd be good to pick up Supplies.

The supplies effect should be enough of reward since grabbing dropped supplies requires no skill at all.

 

And... as mentioned above - more experience is not really a good thing - unless accompanied by crystals as well.

A bit more experience would not hurt high rank players. Developers would decide how much experience each rank would get by catching supply boxes.

 

However, my example in the first post is rather good.

how do you catch a mine?

By activating it and receiving damage from it? The mine explodes but you can still count it as a catch xD

 

Some players with strong mine module activate mines on purpose, to help their team.

 

Mines should not give xp because can you imagine ranking up via getting killed by mine? That would be much worse than ranking up via assist...

No. I will not swap the XP gained. The XP gained is according to the default keyboard buttons to activate supplies. The XP gain is in the correct order, so it does not need to change. It does not matter how many of each supply type is on a map, because you will only get tiny points in XP points when picking any of the supply boxes.

 

Gold boxes and containers would give you more XP because they are rare.

Well, there is absolutely no reason for the supplies to be in that order. It's not like Repair Kit is "1" because it's less important than a mine, which is "5". In fact, you can even change all your supply key binds for them to be activated in whichever order you want. If it were up to me, I'd make it so that RK gives you 3 exp, other supplies (SB, DD and DA) give you 1  exp, the Nuclear box gives 10 exp, while the gold box gives 50 and black box 100. And they definitely shouldn't affect your battle score.

 

But again - you haven't explained how you would go around the issue with players stealing boxes from their teammates just to get EXP from them.

In my opinion, only catching the Gold Box or Container should give experience points. Implementing an exp system on other boxes will cause massive sabotage, like teammates on full supplies catching double armors and damages from other teammates who might not have supplies at all.

The upcoming crystal boxes will contain experience points as well (in order to prevent low-ranked accounts from stacking on crystals without progressing through ranks, thus negatively affecting the game's economy).

The idea status are good. Thanks for starting my request on this post on supplies. Over the years, since I played Tanki Online, I have written numerous amount of threads like this, so please take a look and read them one by one thoroughly, then mark them as valid if developers plan on making the features and development implementations for them. Once my ideas are finished, mark them as complete.

idk why it always make me cringe to watch a very solid reason my a mod to get turned around periods of time later.

Well, on low ranks (where these boxes will drop), things like teamwork don't really exist, not to mention that the crystal boxes will completely replace supplies, rather than just adding EXP to normal supply drops. I think in this case it's quite a decent feature.
