No, I get that watches can be used as a collecters item etc, what I am trying to say is about the overly expensive watches that are *worn*. Simply put, you should be wearing watches to tell the time and perform other basic functions, but if you wear an expensive one, then it's kind of futile.

people can see beautiful craftsmanship in any object

i mean a cheap fiat car does exactly the same function as a buggati chiron

but put the two together and i know which one would get the most attention ?

I have a Casio F-91W. Quite a well known watch. Pretty good for what I paid ~$15: water-resistant, 7-10 year battery life or more, calendar with auto leap years, alarm and stopwatch.
