Quota matches

I notice that most of the time, unfair battles are the fault of players rather than the game being unbalanced. As such, I feel that this system might be of use, although i am unsure. 

 

Rules: No more than 2 Isidas, Magnums, Twins, Firebirds and Vulcans. No more than 3 Ricochets, Thunders, Railguns, Freeze, Hammer, Smoky and Striker. No more than 3 people per team may use protections against either of the three turrets, meaning that if 3 people are using Isida protection, there can't be a 4th. Since it will be hard to observe these rules, perhaps there can be a feature called "best fit" added, which provides me with a combination with as many protections against enemy turrets as possible while ensuring that the aforementioned rules are also followed.

 

I realize this would cause some damage to diversity and the various different styles of gameplay, but I feel that it would probably add a consistency the current matchmaking lacks, in that I can go ahead and come first in a match with my Viking and Thunder, and all of a sudden end up last in the next match despite me not changing any variables.

This simply doesn't work for MM. Not only is it a complicated system, but it will be extremely frustrating for players to be forced to use equipment they may not like. Imagine you are using Shaft and the map is Sandbox. The only other M3 turret you have is Ricochet and you want to change to it because it fits the map better, but you can't, because your team already has 3 Ricochets. It's just annoying.

 

Besides, I'm fairly certain that unbalanced battles in MM are mostly caused by other factors besides having a lot of identical turrets or modules in one team.

Well that does seem logical. I assume that putting somethign so complicated into the game would be hard.

It's not even the difficulty of coding it. I doubt that part would be particularly complex, but I could be wrong. The biggest disadvantage of this is the inconvenience it causes for players.

Perhaps. If the system could be made by garage equipment maybe not. As in, no more than 2 people have the same turrets (as in your example, 3) and out of the enemies, no more than 3 have protection against these three tankers. This might work for lower ranks. At higher ranks a system such as this would also work because most times legends have at least a full M3 garage if not m4
