Trading with a special pass

Trading with a special pass

The concept is simple: You should be allowed to trade paints with one another as long as they are in the same group. For example: You can only trade garage paints for other garage paints (ie. the blue category when opening containers). Of course the trading will occur between players and not like 'trade in Needle for Night' in the same persons garage.

How it will work:

Say a player really badly wants flow paint while another really wants Galaxy. Lets call the first player (flow wanting person) Person A. The other person who wants galaxy will be Person B. So one day Person A can send a request to person B through a special trading window that will be available through only friends tab. (You must have the person added in order to trade with them) Person A wants flow paint badly, but can't do the Challenges to get it. The other person who wants galaxy did the challenges and owns flow paint. Person A and B can then swap the two paints (There will be a cost per transaction depending on the rarity of the paints to prevent abuse to the system. So people don't go around swapping paints left and right. Say 30k for garage paint, 50k for shop paints and 100k for animated paints).

You might say: But people can just make multiple accounts and trade paints within them depending on what they get in containers! Like someone might make a recruit acc, do a few missions and get like frost paint on it and trade it for red or white in their main account!

To combat this, trading can only occur within other accounts in your rank. You can only trade with those that are 5 ranks below or 5 ranks above your current rank. Plus since paints do nothing but change your GS by an insignificant number, this feature would be welcomed cause certain paints look much better with certain xt's. This update is designed mainly for Legend ranked and higher ranked players. Both players must consent to the trade after paints have been chosen. Players must consent twice (Once to lock paint so the other person doesn't swap it with a worse paint) and second to consent the process.

Why it should be done:

At the end of the day, TO is a business. So it makes sense to put this feature only if both parties own a certain pass. Either a special pass like the clan license pass (Won't expire and can be used infinite times tho, one time pass is not going to sell at all) or put it for premium users only. Considering how premium is only through shop and through containers, putting such a pass for premium users will also make players wish to purchase premium. Trading can only be done if both people have an active premium account.

Thank you for considering.

is this means trading its not going to be against the rules?i thought trading was against the rules

That is trading accounts which were and still are against the game rules. This is just a paint ''trade''.

So here's what I would like to see get implemented in game is a trading system, so like if your friends with another user, then you can trade items, like the following:

Crystals

Tankions

Augments

Supplies

Skins

Paints

Drones

So this would be a really cool feature, hope it gets implemented!

Note: This can be modified and changed.

This can be abused so easily.

Only things that have no impact on the game should be traded... like paints and skins.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. My Shaft account has numerous skins and shot effects that I unfortunately do not have on my main. I invested quite a bit into getting these on both accounts, and do not want that to go to waste or to have to buy it all over again (more accurately, with a chance to get back the things I want).

For example:

Spoiler

Snow Freeze effect on my Shaft account, not on my main

Fire Isida effect on my Shaft account, not on my main

Void Hammer effect on my Shaft account, not on my main

Gold and Electric Twins effects on my Shaft account, not on my main

Electric Ricochet shot effect on my Shaft account, not on my main

Crimson Striker shot effect on my Shaft account, not on my main

XT, PR, UT Thunder skins on my Shaft account, not on my main

Vulcan PR skin on my Shaft account, not on my main

Blue Railgun effect on my Shaft account, not on my main

Blue and Toxic Magnum effects on my Shaft account, not on my main

Void Shaft effect on my main, not on my Shaft account

other paints....

Like @wolverine848 stated, only cosmetic/visual things should have this ability. I know for a fact that it would make me happier if such a thing were to be implemented, or even a system where I can buy individual shot effects and skins instead of having to buy them through skins.

I strongly agree, but maybe it should cost a little less, there are non buyers who may not have enough crystals.

We all hate it when we don't get the Augment we want, or the skin we want from containers. It's super unsatisfying and really disappointing. Example, I use Viking M3 and my Hunter is M0, I open a container and it gives me Hunter XT.

Here's how the trading will work. You can request to trade with an online friend by clicking their name in the friends list. Once you click the request button, they will get a notification saying that you would like to trade. They can either decline it, or accept it. Just like how group making works. If the player clicks accept, you will get a list of all your tradable items and 2 empty boxes. The box to the left is the item you would put for trade, and the box to the right is the item the other player would like to trade. In order to place an item into the box, you will simply click the item you would like to trade, and then put it in the box. Once the other player has selected their items, you both must click ready to begin the trading. When clicking ready, you and the player will wait 10 seconds with a button that'll allow you to stop the trade if you have second thoughts. This will help with any accidents. Another thing is, if you get a connection error in between the 10 second wait time, the trade will be cancelled. You'll be able to trade with any ranks and there would be no rank requirements on when you'll be allowed to trade. The items you will be allowed to trade are Skins, Paints, Augments, and Shot Effects. So no turrets or hulls or drones that could easily exploit the entire game.

Rule 1: Both players must give 1 item in exchange. There won't be any free giveaways in the trading system, because that's not how trading works. You can't have one player give 1 item and another player give no item.

Rule 2: You can only trade items that are in the same category, for example, I can trade a paint for a paint, but I can't trade a paint for an augment.

Rule 3: You are only allowed to trade 1 item at a time.

Rule 4: There will be a time limit each time you trade. For now, I'm saying 1 hour per trade. This is to prevent players from looking for players for hours trying to trade equipment, instead of playing the actual game.

Rule 5: You are only allowed to trade with friends in your friends list. No random people you found in chat trying to annoy them with trade requests.

Rule 6: You can not be given items you already have. So, if your friend wants to trade his green paint, but you already have the green paint, it won't allow him to. Same would apply to everything else.

Rule 7: You are unable to trade special paints as those paints belong to those who were there for the event.

I'm pretty sure I covered everything. What do y'all think?

Its a great idea, and I hope it gets added someday. We shouldn't even be able to earn stuff like augments for equipment we don't even own in the first place.

Hello, I suggest adding a trading system to make it possible for players to trade items in-game. So, for example, I have "Burst of Light" paint, but I like "Galaxy" paint more, and a player in game has "Galaxy", and likes "Burst of Light" more, we can trade so that I get Galaxy for giving Burst of Light and he gets Burst of light for giving Galaxy, it doesn't have to be for paints only, paints trade was just an example, it can also be supplies maybe, so that I give repair kits for example, to get double damage, any trade is possible.

Hello, this program would be very fun to have for players who have maxed out accounts and have a lot of supplies and crystals that they want to send to others in their friends list...please consider this idea.

Hello Tanki

I've got suggestion that allows players to trade ingame stuff  between each others such as skins and paints.

These would be called as "Trade Tokens".

They are found from  missions or via special offers.

You have chance to exchange  items you don't necessarily need  with someone who is interested in them  and get something you really want in return.

This would be great feature  for players who are unlucky with containers.

Thank you ?

Hi everyone,

I want to know what you guys think of my idea. I wish Tanki would add a trading system, not only is it a brand new innovative idea, but it is so useful in my opinion. I have so many things on my account that my friends want, and vice versa. It would be cool to trade augments, shot effects, paints, supplies, crystals etc. And both parties don't necessarily have to give something, it could just be one person who wants to give out paints or crystals or whatever, maybe for a giveaway or just because they want to help a friend out. Let me know what you guys think.

Trading will only be added if every trade involves a substantial fee in tankoins. And I'm talking hundreds, if not thousands of tankoins per trade. Think about it, if getting a normal legendary augment requires someone to spend thousands of tankoins on Epic Keys, then if you're giving an augment you don't need to a friend who really wants it, this friend will be less inclined to buy Epic Keys with real money, thus reducing the game's revenue.

Therefore, I believe developers intentionally decided not to add any kind of trading system, because such a system would go one of three ways:

  • The trading is cheap, so Tanki Online loses money;
  • The trading is expensive, so players complain that devs are greedy;
  • The trading system is designed in a constrained way so that players can't benefit from it, so players complain that it's trash and never use the system, meaning that devs spent a lot of time and resources developing a useless feature;

Every option is an overall negative for Tanki, so why bother adding it?

And easily exploitable via alts...
