Declined Creating Custom Paint

As title explains,

 

 

Some bucks can be paid to create custom paint and reviewed by moderators to verify any bad content is on it.

 

It would be cool to have own skins and pretty much clan players would find helpful to represent their paint on their tank

Developers have been asked many many times to let the players make their own custom paints and it got declined over and over, if you use the search engine, you will see that quite few topics were made and all of them got declined and archived for the same reason(s).

 

Even though there are plenty of paints in the game already, still there is also the chance of...as soon as this is added, all other paints will lose their value. For example, you could just get a texture of some legendary reward paint (like Champion) and set it to be your custom paint, despite never even playing eSports.

 

Another point you mentioned in here is the moderating part, this would require a lot of extra moderating efforts since players would be able to upload textures that are offensive or inappropriate as you explained above which is just extra more work that will need to be monitored.  Also as we all know, the process of checking paint's compatibility and then adding them to the game is not easy.

 

Let's just say that, we players make the paints and the developers choose the best ones and release or add them to the game, still  it's wasting the developers time by making them go through the paints and choosing the best one, then checking it's compatibility and if all is good adding it to the game. Moreover, this would create confusion for new players and newbies. It is better to wait till they make new paints, maybe they'll introduce new paints sooner or later to us. Not to mention that, nowadays there are PLENTY of paints in the game literally more than anyone can imagine compared to a couple of years before. 

 

Because of these problems and few others, developers decided not to have this in the game or even let the players make their own custom paints in a way or another.

I guess you could say that the custom paint could cost some insane amount (like $300), so that not many people actually buy it and moderators wouldn't be overwhelmed with the paints they need to check, but it's still a bad idea. As Hate said, we already have an insane amount of paints in the game, and adding a custom new one won't make you any more special because no one will even recognise that you have a custom paint. Besides, manually approving anything that's widely available is just a bad approach to game design. Everything should be fast and automatic.

In the early days of Tanki, we could custom paint our tanks, but it was visible only to the user. Everyone else just saw normal Tanki paint. This feature was very short lived.
