Self-damage resistance module

Recommended Posts

Can we make a self-damage resistance module? I would definitely buy it for parkour, Do you like that idea?

To be clear, I have been getting comments that indicate it would be something available to be used in Matchmaking. My idea was more of a module automatically equipped in a parkour battle, just as in XP/BP battles when certain combos get protections.

Valid

On one hand this is good for players, since they can have one module for all of their self-damage turrets. On the other hand, this is bad for the game, because players will spend less on modules. However, it could also mean that in the long run players will spend more, because it will be an additional module that needs to be bought, along with the other 14.

Also, the problem is that right now if you are using Thunder, you equip a Thunder module and protect from yourself, as well as all enemy Thunders. If this gets implemented, then you would need to equip the self-damage module in addition to the Thunder module, if there are a lot of enemy Thunders. Basically, it takes up an additional protection slot and I don't think this should be added without increasing the total number of slots.

Yeah good point, I was thinking kind of a parkour module. Perhaps it could be like format XP/BP battles where some combos get protections - in parkour mode tanks automatically get 50% protection against themselves? Not available to be used in non parkour battles.

Parkour mode needs a whole bunch of improvements, including a way to completely disable damage. But at the moment it seems like PRO battles (and especially parkour format) are the last thing devs care about.

Yeah, that's true :(

Parkour is one of the best things there is about the game, I probably wouldn't stay for much longer if there weren't parkour .

Second last to parkour contests actually.

I do like the idea. However, even if this was added tomorrow, I would recommend everyone to not buy it, because it's just overall worse than just using Rico protection with Rico, or Fire protection with Vulcan.

There basically is a splash damage module... Because if you're using thunder, then get thunder protection xD

lol yeah maybe without having to buy it? Refer to my second post above :)

There is already splash resistance alterations, example being thunder, I do not think they will add a protection module for yourself, as its included in alterations.

Also, parkour needs revamped, badly

The only turret that I can think of that is commonly used in parkour and deals self-damage is Thunder. And using Subcaliber alteration you can completely remove self-damage and get extra impact force and recoil. Other turrets such as Hammer and Ricochet rarely have their shots or pellets hit them and Striker is mostly used to shoot salvos at other people. We are only talking about having self-damage protection for Magnum, guys.

Striker is mostly used to shoot salvos at other people.

If you're mostly using salvo with Striker then you're wasting a lot of the turret's potential.

I would disagree. Magnum yes, Thunder yes, but Rico will almost always get at least a but of self damage, and Hammer M1 can two shot my Wasp M1 when climbing buildings. Basically, Hammer inflicts self damage when going up, while Thunder and Magnum deal large self damage any time. Rico will damage for going up, or the first one or two shots going forward/backward.

He means for parkour. Other turrets are easier to aim for individual shots.

In parkour?

Misread, sorry.

Regardless, I think that self-damage resistance would be handy in standard battles.

Ricochet shots rebounding back are quite rare and deal little damage if you use Double Armor. However, I agree that Hammer can inflict massive self-damage when shooting directly below to jump.

You can protect yourself from your turret if you use protection against it like if you are a thunder user take protection against thunder it'll help

I think this is a great idea. if you put a regular magnum module on while using magnum, it shouldn't protect against your own splash damage but it will of course protect against other magnum players.

so now you add this self damage module for the noobs in matchmaking (uranium striker charge only trash, shoot at 100% at 0 degrees magnum trash, and the thunders with the stupid 1.5 second altertion that get as close to you as possible to do maximum damage) and of course the parkour players

so now these trash players that need their self damage protection get punished because they only have two protection module slots left after the self damage protection.

and I can automatically laugh and make fun of them for having this self damage only protection module

yeah that would be the only thing in my garage I wouldnt own besides boring noob gun ricochet and a number of drones that are just handicaps like lifeguard drone and trooper drone

I think it is a good idea, however we need a fourth module shot.  I wouldn't use/buy it if it meant losing one slot already taken up.

Some turrets and alterations (ie Twin's Heavy Plasmagun) are more lethal to my own tank than the enemy at close quarters, so I'd welcome a fourth slot and a self-protection module.

Why not just equip Twins protection so that... if there's a Twins enemy you are protected from those shots as well as your own splash damage?

Once you are at a certain rank you pretty much have ALL modules anyway...
