Show the countdown timer on missions all the time

Recommended Posts

It would be helpful to be able to see the daily countdown timer from the beginning of the mission week.  It is now shown after either the 10 daily, 20 daily, or floater missions have been completed.

How often do suggestions get passed on to the devs?  Once a week, once a month, or just a random thing after a few notable ideas spring up?

Once a week. But some developers actually come in the section whenever they want to. Even Cedric checks the reports.

The reports contains 3 sections

  1. Ideas for new features
  2. Improvements to existing features
  3. Small changes/adjustments

If you automatically get a new mission if your mission was there for a day or week-then you don't need a timer.

Maybe you don't but I would like one and feel it would be very helpful and I think many players would find it very useful.  It certainly wouldn't hurt anything and would be very easy to implement since most of the code is already in place.

There is no way to tell what day you are on in the beginning of your mission set/week unless you keep track in your head.  Maybe you have school or other commitments and can't play Tanki for a few days...it would be nice to see if you had 6 days or 4 days left to complete missions.  As it is now, and you happen to lose track, you won't know what day you are on until you complete one of the mission sets...either 10/10 or 20/20 or the floater.  Why not just have the countdown timer all the time like in the image I posted?

We also need a next day reset for Weekly Missions that were completed after 7 days.

But there's a problem:

Does that mean each Weekly Mission having a different timer. Likely problematic.

Maybe we need a new system, close to what Chains was. How about like this:

Chains of 10 missions each and timer reset every week for everyone.

If you complete one Chain in 4 days you get the reward and get a new Chain to complete.

If you don't complete a Chain in that week you lose one step for the next week, but remaining steps are transferred.

Rewards for each Chain are the same. Meaning 2 greens and 2 blues, hopefully

I would hate to see mission chains return.  I think the current system is ok.  By weekly mission, I assume you mean what I call the floater mission.  In the current system if you complete it quickly you just have to wait until the sequence you are in restarts...which would be impossible to be longer than six days.  In my opinion, not worth the complexity you suggest just for one floater mission to reset more quickly.

My idea of the timer is just a simple alteration that the code is already in place...they just need to display the timer in a place that is visible all the time.

With this timer, if you miss a few days playing you would know if you were at the start of the sequence or three days into it or two or four or five.  Eventually, after you clear the floater, or the 10/10 or the 20/20 you can see the countdown timer and know for sure where you are in the sequence....why not have that same ability (to know where you are in the sequence) all the time?
