Opinion About Shaving Head

 Share

Recommended Posts

i have dandruff issues as well, i tried to shave my head to solve it many times but that didn't help, what helped me is getting to know what type of hair i have (dry or oily).

My hair skin is dry, that's why i got dandruff, all i did was washing my hair twice a week max, and do an oil massage to my hair every two days, i noticed that i didn't get dandruff on the first week (i got it again when i didn't follow this routine due to my laziness)

anyway, if you have an oily hair skin you may need to do the opposite, don't use oil to massage your hair, but use orange juice once every two days, and wash your hair up to 3 times a week

hope this helps !

P.S: can't belive we are talking about dandruff in Tanki forum, what a time to be alive !

Why and how do you think shaving your head will help with dandruff?

why? because there'd be lesser place for it to grow and it'd be easier to wipe or wash it off

how? he used his brain to think

Have you done any research on how to take care of a bald head and precautions you need to take? Shaving your head won't take care of flakes if you don't take good care of your chrome dome. Hair is an insulator to protect your head. Take away that insulation and your scalp is exposed to the elements. The scalp is more sensitive to the elements than the rest of your body, even on cloudy days.

Remember: If you shave your head and you decide you don't like the way it looks, it'll take about 3 months for it to grow out.

You're shaving your head to prevent flakes. Shaving doesn't cure it, in fact, shaving can make it worse if proper precautions aren't taken.

Have you done any research as to the cause of dandruff? I had a problem with dandruff when I lived in the North. I cleared it up (without shaving). A few years later, I moved to the South and the dandruff was back. Again, I cleared it up (without shaving). It all has to do with cause and effect. I'm not trying to discourage you from shaving, it's strictly a personal preference. You need to know how deep the water is before you dive in. This is not a decision to be taken lightly.

EDIT: If you decide to shave your head, please stop at the scalp. You really wouldn't look very good if you shave your head off. But, then, you wouldn't have a problem with dandruff, either.

That's kinda sad to hear. But my head is now scratch free. Now, I need to find a TOR base shampoo or something and use them in regular basis.

Shaved me head off. I can't keep scratching all day. I feel free. I'm not going out in summer time.

It prevents me from dandruff for 3 months.

Less hair = Less dandruff

You already shaved your head?

I looked on several websites for shampoo for bald heads. Not one of them recommends TOR, in fact it's not listed at all. TOR is for heads with hair. Big difference. You need to buy shampoo for your skin type, not your hair type. Do your homework...research.

Did you read anything I posted? Dandruff is not hair related, it's skin related. Get your facts straight.

Update: I decided to shave my head off.

I feel some kinda oily thing when i rub my head off and I feel heat when I touch it.

Umm, like a chicken? At least you'll be a headless human, not a chicken, but still...

So, what you guys want me to do now ?

One says to use TOR base and other says not to.

:-/ I'm just using lemons every 2 days to change my head's pH level.

who cares where it comes from

with no hair you can just wipe it off. if it's windy enough it can even be blown away by itself.

just ignore those people pretending to be geniuses. they just make it seem complicated so they can look clever.

you don't have to do anything.

i shaved my hair many times before. been to the tropical forests, been to icy mountains, been to deserts, swam in rivers and seas, flown and jumped from planes and helicopters, shaved head never caused any problems.

This is not his opinion. This is your opinion. The guy doesn't know about any of this. You say he used his head and realized that dandruff is easier to deal with with a shaved head, but it turns out he instead thought that dandruff came from hair. He'll do all sorts of rubbish that he believes will help but may not. Now he is squeezing lemons over his head, because reasons.

it doesn't matter where they come from...

what matters is that if there is no hair they have no where to stay on him

Actually. I'm right. Less hair = less dandruff. I didn't said dandruff comes from 'hair'. These hair are just trapping my scalp off and trying to hold the annoying dandruff on my head for  long time. I used shampoo but the dandruff is just getting wet and very next day, when I get my hair dry i can see them.

I've have made a good decision in shaving my "hair" off. I can now sleep peacefully but, I'm afraid this peace can no longer last. I just need help guys. Please. I don't want to end my life by scratching my head like a lunatic.

Dude, I'm really sorry for my typo. I just did a mistake. I know the dandruff comes from my scalp. I just did a small typo. I did some research and changing the pH level of head reduces dandruff. I'm just trying ok? I'm planning to apply some neem (homemade) paste on my scalp to see some effects.
