Fair distribution of stars

In the current system, a difference in score of less than 10 can change your position on the leaderboard and compromise the number of Stars earned.

This needs to be changed as a score difference of 10 doesn't matter when considering your contribution towards your team. A self-destruct towards the end of the battle can lead to 1 (or 2 with Premium) less Stars, which in the long run, affects your progress in the Challenge.
I hope that the system is changed to allow a much more fair distribution, and help us not lose our progress in the Challenge just because of petty score differences.

Your proposal is not specific enough. Please suggest exactly how you think the stars distribution could be made more fair.

Scores with difference of 10 should be treated as the same. In the example I gave above (see picture), since I and the person at second place had a difference of 6 in score, we both should be given 3 stars.

In fact, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places contributed almost equally to our team's victory with scores 236, 230 and 230 respectively and hence, deserved equal Stars.

I'm not sure if I can accept that, since you're asking for a substantial increase in the amount of stars earned. However, at the same time in DM battles the scores basically are rounded to the nearest 10, so in that sense your idea does fit with the game.

This was just a rare case of 3 people deserving 2nd position. The problem I mostly face is losing 5 stars a day due to little differences in score.

Also, a clarification I want to make:

If there is a case where three people after the first place got like 320, 310 and 300 score, only the tankers getting 320 and 310 will get same amount of stars. Those who are within the range of 10 points from the person getting a particular place are capable of getting same stars. If the 4th place got a score less than 10 minus the score of 2nd place, he is not going to be considered to come second overall.

No. 1 & 2 deserved first place, while No. 3 to 6 deserved second. The last two were third. So many stars lost...

It should have been 3-6, 3-3-3-6, and 2-2.

I agree, I lost about 500 stars since they implemented the challenges due to 10 or below score difference.

here's an expamle: (s=score) (no premium)

 

1st: 456s

2nd: 454s

3rd: 445s

4th: 327s

5th: 237s

6th: 135s

7th: 74s

8th: 10s

 

1st + 2nd = 6 stars

3rd misses out by 9 score = 2 star

everyone else is fine until no.7

to get atleast 1 star, I've noticed it takes atleast 70 or 75 score but this player missed by 1.

 

 

I know there are other expamples shown above but I just wanted to make you have sympathy and me to be noticed. wow

Did you upload it? Directly pasting image or using a downscaled version with wrong extension (eg. data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAAD/2wCEAAkGBxIQERUREh..)gives that error

I think my idea is better:

 

5 - 4

4 - 3

3 - 3

3 - 2

2 - 2

2 - 2

2 - 2

2 - 1

 

And for DMs 5-4-4-3-3-3-3-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-1

 

A score of 50 or less would give you 1 Star and a minimum score of 25 to earn Stars, then Stars quantity for Challenges would require an adjustment.

Rewarding players with more stars, means that the number of stars for the challenges will also increase accordingly. It is a neutral gain. I see that you will be happier to get one star when you used to receive zero, but the task remain daunting. The stars difference between the winners ranking is important to keep you playing in a competitive way, to push you to do better next time. For me easy, free star, would make me lazy and sloppy.

 

Try not to self-destruct at the end of the battle if stars are important to you :) stay flipped (no shame here) :)

I know, but if the Challenges were to be of 2000 Stars, and I would be getting more Stars than I am now, I would be able to reach a higher tier. This is because the amount of Stars needed for a tier increases gradually, and at the lower ones the increase in Stars earned would exceed the amount of Stars needed. So it won't be a neutral gain for non-hardcore players.

This 'substantial increase' is not much, really. I don't find the need to increase Stars needed by a lot, just to counter what players should rightfully be getting.

 

Also, if I don't self-destruct when I flip, (although I actually self-destruct because of Striker's self-damage and not due to flipping) others would just gain more experience in that time. :x

Self damage is a non-sense, you can self damage yourself and enemy, but not your allies. If they improved Vulcan mechanics to help light hull, they should also look at Thunder and strikers, small hull are also discriminated due to self damage.

But as Maf said, the scores in DM are rounded off to the nearest 10, so why not do the same to Team modes as well. I only suggested a method to make Star distribution fair. I did not ask for a drastic increase in their amount. Like this:

That would just make those who are getting just 1 Star per battle progress even slowly.

 

As for self-damage, Striker receives it a lot... And what really frustrates me is that it still does when the rocket hits a dead tank. This, combined with the fact that a rocket that was launched by you deals 0 damage if you die while it's midway, make Striker's rockets neither independent projectiles like that of Magnum, nor like those of Thunder that deal no splash or self-damage when they hit dead tanks.

They're probably faulty rockets, made in Antarctica by poor Penguins forced to work by an evil tyrant. :p
