Why you should accept the fact that this game is dead and move on

Lol saying 2015 was the prime of this game. Yes it was good back then but nothing will ever beat the 2011-2013 era. The game was booming. They had just welcomed their 15,000,000th player. Can you imagine that? 15 million players dwindling down to what? 500-1000 players on a good day?( and that's just the one server now as RU and EN players are mixed). I remember when Tanki had 15-20 separate servers running at the same time, EN1 and EN2 were the go-to servers. Shaft had been just released, the hype around that was unreal. The game was genuinely fun to play because there was only hulls, turrets and 5 supplies and a plethora of memorable maps. Now there is all this bs like overdrive and drones etc. And what is with the pro battle pass? Why do I have to pay to play? Is it some kind of tax? Just so Tanki devs can squeeze a bit more money out of their dead player base? Every battle is a pro battle these days (and there aren't that many battles to begin with) so why have it at all? This game is embedded in my memory since I started playing in 2010/2011 and its sad to see it crushed so hard by the devs. I stopped playing for good in summer 2018 because the magnum meta was boring. I missed the days of sniping with railgun on madness, I miss the good old maps like fort knox and I miss the original uniqueness that this game offered back in the day. Now I check on forums to see if there is any glimmer of hope but devs just don't seem to understand and are too focused on their simulations on earning as much money as possible.

There was some hope with Tanki X as when I played an early release of it it seemed like it was promising. And most importantly it relighted my initial excitement I felt when Tanki 2.0 was announced all those years ago because it was postponed indefinitely. However their devs somehow botched that too and it seems these games are really at the end of their lives. Devs have been so focused on pushing players to buy things that they haven't bothered to take a step back and see that their game is all but dead, and they're the ones who killed it.

Hate to break it to you but 15 million accounts doesn't mean 15 million players.

And I'm pretty sure tanki only had 100k actual players max, maybe 150k.

I also disagree with it only having 500 to 1000 players on a good day. Every day before server restart I see it at 3 or 4k. In the morning ( my time zone) it'd be around 10k.

berlin and novel should be added to MM, they are much better maps than massacre. i dont even know why its in MM its a bad map

Berlin would be awesome, but too bad it has issues regarding lag and such. Novel doesn't seem to be a good fit unless the map is enlarged a bit more.

I'd love to see some more big maps....when you have to drive a decent way and can explore different parts, it feels so much cooler. Berlin might be too big, but it is fun getting stuck on one part of the map and calling for reinforcements from another

Unless you're using a heavy hull and lagging simultaneously. If that was in MM it'd just be another map I'd exit from immediately upon spawning.

Wow.... I only joined in 2016 but many of these points are true.

madness ;(

OMG YES!!!

I used to hate madness but I was an m0 noob back then with rico/wasp.

And this is my first post in several months.... I've been taking a break from Tanki and gaming in general due to real life stuff.

What do people love about madness so much except nostalgia? Driving around on narrow ramps isnt that fun...for me at least..its very untanklike.

As for new tanki vs old, I dont understand people wanting to go back to old days which were slower battles where druggers could take over the battle alone and where many battles were "leave or fight 10-3 for the final 8 minutes".

Back in 2013 on test server, there were a stack of draft maps which we would visit. It was great visiting new areas, new atmospheres...

Developpers should be introducing new maps much more regularly, at least temporally. First because of the point that they have built up a system of rank and crystal that requires the player to spend enormous amount of time in game, we tend to experience similar scenes of gameplay too often or even constantly. So, they should be bringing more diversity in gameplay by introducing new areas / landscapes in which we would be driving.

There are already creative tools and textures needed for designing creative maps, but the developers only like to use them for making very little change to existing maps.

They don't do it for vague reasons. such as : 'we don't want too much maps on the list.' 'it has to be simple.'    or 'we have to make many tests to be sure that there would not be any bug on the new map' (For example, last year they reversed their plan to introduce a map for lower ranks only, because of unfixed bugs)

Those maps use nonexistent game files. Even if the devs wanted them back, they couldn't.

Most of the props used in those maps were once in the game, from m point of view. They were used in the 2 maps Crash and Gallery that were present in the map list of main servers for several years.

They were only in the game for 2-3 months, not several years. And those props used an older version of the 3rd library, so they can't come back.

The changes they made to Madness are extremely disappointing and let me assure you, I literally did not see anyone complain about the "long, boring jumps" anywhere - on any platform. I was super-active in those days and saw almost all topics on the forum and other socials. It was more or less or completely the opposite, fun, challenging to do and not to mention cool to a point where you could do some crazy rank ups and Gold catches.

What alternative changes they could've made:

  • Made the distance between the top and bottom much smaller.
  • Lessened the complexity of the bridges up top.
  • Reduced the map size overall.

What they could do now:

  • Bring the map back, at least in Pro battles.
  • Do the above changes and release it in MM as well. (Let's be honest, MM is not and can not be treated as eSports-like, professional mode. If a fun map is there then let it be in casual play.)

Madness was great for parkour, too.

First time I played on Madness, I didn't realize there were holes in the floor. Can you imagine my surprise the first time I found myself falling through outer space? When it first came out I think there were more holes in the floor than there was when the bottom floor was removed. At the lower ranks, it was funny to suddenly see a rain of tanks falling and most of them landed upside down or go through the holes.

In the same battle, you could see 3 modes going on at the same time: CTF on the bottom floor, TDM on the upper floors and parkour in between. I think it should remain as it is in Pro battles but bring back the lower floor in MM.
