Game-changing? Game-disrupting! Currently, the game is already unbalanced enough. And Tanki adds another feature... :blink:. I must say: No lack of self-confidence, but I would like to see some more self-reflection, which could lead to some real improvements.

There is no solution to change the way players are at very high ranks. You should be happy that they still make updates, not just leave the game. While all the druggers and addicted gamers have the advantage of this feature, don't forget that you have it too. Almost everyone was waiting for this update, it has been announced a long time ago, so it's time to celebrate, not to leave the game. This won't have a big impact in unbalance, nor balance. The XP format will highly change. If everyone activates hornet's OD one after another, the team can see the enemy team's tanks and healthbars ALL THE TIME, if it's  a pro team. That's all.

Hornet and Hunter both have the ability to turn off all your supplies - thanks Tanki, no point in me buying supplies from now on if it's going to be a waste of my money.

 

And in battles like CTF we used to use our overdrive next to the flag-carrier to give them health.  Looks like that's not going to be possible now.

 

This, I think, is going to be a worse cluster*uck than MM was.

Almost everyone was waiting for this update, it has been announced a long time ago, so it's time to celebrate, not to leave the game. 

Not "almost everyone" go back to older v-log threads and look at how many people said "keep delaying them we don't want them". Seems like theres more "Don't want them" then "Want them".

 

But us players don't have a word in what tanki does sadly so we have to live with it or quit.  :)

Just like before, the ODs can be turned ON/OFF when you create a Pro Battle. Yes, after the server restart tomorrow, the new ODs will be added to all ranks and all kind of battles. About that hunter rico thing: When hunter activates his OD, it shocks the other player and it can not move/activate supplies/activate OD. But a bug might happen if they click the overdrive button at the same time. Just like the annoying overdrive activation bug with all the hulls before, soon only dictator: You are about to die and you activate the overdrive, you just died and didn't press the OD soon enough to repair the tank. The overdrive is gone, and your tank too (OD: 0%). I hope you know/understand what I am talking about. It might be a disaster for players to get used for the new update, for others it will be very enjoyable and fun. That depends on the player.

Hunters are the new bomb disposal squad. We gotta hire them around the world. 

 

I'm expecting to see a lot of wasps, hunters and titans in Rio, Noise and silence CTFs. Wasps dropping bombs, hunters diffusing and titans protecting the base. I guess this finally balances OP vikings. Almost every second hull was that up until this moment.

etc.

The thing is Tanki Online is an often changing game, if I can say it like that. Some players are way too used to the older version of the game, so they quit + 1, 2 or more personal reasons why they quit. We might not have a word in what tanki does sometimes, but we were the ones who chose the new ODs if you remember. There are decisions made by TO that we can't stop, and we must accept it. But when Tanki gives us the chance to choose A or B, we will have make an impact on how the new update will be.

Overall: I understand the fact that you don't want the update and I am not trying you to change your mind. It's up to you what you do.

The game-play is already almost all luck.  These ODs will be the nail in the coffin of strategy and make battles 99% luck..at least in MM battles where there is no organized team.  Clans might be able to ue them strategically, but MM will be a grinder crap shoot.

 

More and more child-like, a game for the kiddies...such a waste.

That's a good thing to hear! But I am not sure if this is because of the PC, or the way the game works. I just said what I experienced. About the test server, I did not play a lot in it. ( my PC kept shutting down )

sir i did check out a v-log . where they took the players opinions on a topic and on the first page alone it was a even amount , as the following pages  it basically was close to being for the item.

 

we do have a say in it and will continue to , on if they listen to our point of view well that I can't comment on cause I'm not in the decision room where its all comes out in the end on what stays and go's.. opinions in tanki do matter and if your finding tanki ECM is not listening then go to the main office and complain . then see if this will help.. management@tankionlineeurope.com

Look at MM and how horrible it is and how many people didn't want it.

sir if you play Tanki X you would be able to see how it works. when it first came out in the game it was nothing but lag and also one sided battles .. it was hard  to get adjusted to the new system.. so this new way of battles will take time to sort out for some players . over all i'm not for it until its been fixed to meet the players in this game..

My comment just means that if you don't like this game just leave. If you think that the game if boring laggy just leave this game.

Make sure to read this thread about what players are saying about the new overdrives not seeing much positive. Can you link the thread where we got to chose if we wanted new over drives? I don't remember them asking.
