Alterations for Overdrives

Recommended Posts

A general idea that I had, I don't really get into stats and price, but I think its something that has some potential to be added.

For Example:

  • Titan - Diverted Energy Sheild: Force Field is further strengthened to resist nearly all incoming damage, field radius is reduced, and emitter repair is deactivated.
  • Mammoth - Heavy Systems: Speed of your hull is reduced, but this allows your overdrive to stay active for longer.
  • Viking - Quick Loaders:  Firing rate is further increased, but shots deal no extra damage.
  • Hunter - Protection Killer: Totally halting enemies is removed, but instead, it will remove near-by enemy tank's protection modules until their tank is destroyed.
  • Dictator - Slow Supply Charge: Supplies that last longer for you and your allies for a slower overdrive recharge.
  • Wasp - Variable Fuse: Adjustable fuse, can be set from anything between 1-5 seconds, self destruction is added.
  • Hornet - Minesweeper: Ignoring protection is traded for ignoring mines, running over enemy mines will remove them from the map.

Any ideas of your own?

Overdrives need to be independent from hull or to be removed. Do you want to add even more complexity to Tanki? Remember the times when this game was simple, without drones and overdrives?

Alterations for hulls could be great but for overdrives? No.

And now I have to remember what hull I'm using.. I'm seriously considering Dictator except that Hunter has a good effect. I used overdrive to get healed... oh wait, that did nothing except enshroud me in lightning briefly.

So basically there should be buyable alterations for overdrives which slightly change how they work (mostly with real money and rarely with crystals on special celebrations so you can earn loads of money)

Few examples:

Wasp: you infect yourself and anyone who touches you will transfer bomb, infected tank will act like a moving bomb

Hunter: instead of instant electric pulse electricity will go around tank for few seconds, but it will not disable supplies

Mammoth: instead of invincibility oil puddle will make all tanks slippery

overdrive for the hovertank.

when using overdrive you gain a repulsion shield around the tank, if a bonus box is within the shield the tank acts as a magnet and draws them closer into the tank (so you can get boxes that are still in the sky). if you run into an enemy with the shield you can push them away (enemies cant get within the shield) if you activate overdrive while the enemy is right next to you they get thrown into the air. the shield does not protect against damage

lasts for 20 seconds.

Ares's OD already is planned,I think. It has something to do with shooting through walls... could be interesting.

Aigaion is in reality a developer in disguise putting radical ideas to later implement them and say that devs listen to players.

I have another idea you forgot to add.

Juggernaut:

Juggernaut: Skilled juggernaut players making lots of kills have slower overdrive recharge time. It would take 3 kills to fully recharge juggernaut's overdrive.

Unskilled juggernaut players which struggles to get kills have their juggernaut overdrive recharge as soon as one kill is made.

==============================================================================================================

That way, the juggernaut tank would be more balanced, so that unskilled juggernaut players have much greater chances of survival. That would be 50/50 skilled/unskilled juggernaut survival ratio.
