The Long Road to Tanki (part 1)

Ring, ring, ring, the phone rang;

chirp, chirp, chirp, the bird sang.

The noise of a tank, rolling by;

and the sound of a Striker's missile, boy does it fly!

"Wait, Wait"-are you confused?

If you don't understand you are not amused.

But I'm sure this helped to get your attention;

and to make a splash in my introduction.

So too you'll soon see how confusing Tanki can be;

After this introduction written by me.

~~~
My name is Aron and I like to rhyme;
Although poems never make 'prime time'.
But when I first came to Tanki;
I didn't understand it-nothing seemed to 'fly'.
So in my poem, coming up below;
I'll detail to you, what I didn't know.
Here's my poem, 1.2.3. GO!
~~~

When I first entered the game;

At least I 'struck gold' on my username.

(My first account was ahrnGOLD;

Aron-my first name, and an account 'tier gold'.)

But the worst was this tale:

Someone once put their e-mail !

I interrupt just this time;

and now I will stop to rhyme.

To give you this important link;

View and see what you think.

Visit http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=220296&page=1 about changing your nickname, or multiple accounts.

Now lets continue, and not be late;

Between each turret I wasn't able to differentiate.

I thought that after a few upgrades;

My Twins would shoot a projectile of different sizes and shades.

That each turret shoots something else I didn't know;

Read the whole introduction?-that wouldn':A' /-*3Gg F΂'g+o^>P=БW ,O](" ̨̩/5 **tankionline.com ZZ#{怬41cd%84PF7UTxf] WU2r3-[ |~헇vŇqYxH͐q67}"zT4V},t/SkzVuvhJ(n<@%q4*|Qh2http/1.1 3+)ZZ k׻|Ȏ[Ra-+ ZZ use?

"How good am I?" I would just muse.

I always thought team Deathmatch I did play;

Since "Destroy Enemy tanks" it did say.

If to kill an enemy I was able;

I must be on TDM like it says on the label.

I learned to chat, pretty quickly;

But to switch between chats?-not me!

The message said "press Tab"-to switch;

Since I didn't press 'Enter' I thought it was a glitch.

I must thank Tanki for all their instructions;

But it wont always help for the 'outs and the ins'.

To speak to moderators should be allowed for Beginners;

Otherwise, most will not be winners.

What was the hardest for you?

Take the poll, and I will address it in part 2

- thanks for reading :)

Approved.

Edits:

- proper nouns should always be capitalized (Striker, Tanki,etc.), so should be "I"

- formatting was tweaked a bit (there have been at least 2 if not 3 different fonts used)

For a premiere piece not bad, although I would look into the the rhymes more. Some lines just did not have that natural flow to them and that was also visible in how some of the words have been placed in the sentences. Try to also make the rhymes a bit more complex since ring, ring, ring. .. chirp, chirp, chirp seemed a bit "basic" to me.

"What was your hardest part on joining Tanki?"

There were not many complications in the game when I joined (2015). No overdrives, easy controls.

But yeah, I did take time to find the Forum  :ph34r:

Okay-that is something I have to edit better next time.

Sorry, One was for the introduction, and after I put 3 '~'s I switched fonts, then I put another 3 '~'s and I switched fonts. For the link I had the original font. If you had to change fonts, I must have accidentally used the wrong font.

Please give me an example so I can see what you mean.

Please don't do that-the rest of my poem doesn't have silly rhymes-and I used some basic words to begin the poem in an eye-catching way that people would want to read further.

I don't understand the problem with that. :huh:

Hang on, you pronounce Tanki, "tank-eye" to rhyme with fly?

Tank-ee

If that is really how you pronounce it-then read the line as follows:

But when I first came to Tanki (tank-ee);

I didn't understand, what I did see.

How is that an eye-catching way that makes people want to read further? It almost turned me off. Tanki isn't confusing. The weirdest thing for me was how to get Firebird to shoot black, but I figured it out directly after I saw it.

I don't understand what you claim turned you off about it. If someone didn't understand the first stanza-and they see "Wait wait-are you confused"-you don't think they would continue reading?

If you don't agree with the theme of the poem-I can't help you (though its obvioslly true)

In the same way as adding "cluck, cluck, cluck" at the beginning of the poem would make it seem a kid's poem on hens, such rhymes easily make people judge poems as not good enough to read. If I see some rhymes like this, I usually skip to the middle to see if they're worth the time.

I'd have to agree too, I was thinking it was a nature poam until I read the title (during my first impression)

Oh boy, that's interesting, well done! In fact, it is the first time I seriously read a poem and even liked it.

Good Job :) !

I recommended Tanki to a friend, and he quit playing after 7 exp. That's just proof on how confusing Tanki gets after the years.

Then again, I almost quit myself, because remember how a while back, some maps were night-themed? My first game was on a night-themed Polygon battle, and it got so confusing for me to be hit by tanks in the dark. ;) But overall, nice poem! (Sorry about all that background information I shoved in there.)

I found nothing hard about Tanki, as I joined when it was fairly simple, and continued to see how it developed. Plus vlogs guarantee that you don't miss out on anything.

How did you find out about Tanki-did a friend help you out?

 vlogs guarantee that you don't miss out on anything.

And you went back to watch old V-logs?

If someone doesn't understand how to work anything in the first few battles they are not going to watch the V-logs. Only once they like the game (which is impossible if you don't know how to work anything) then players start watching the V-logs.

How much EXP did you have when you watched your first V-log?

Read again what I said. When I joined, it was extremely easy to understand and learn the dynamics of the game; and vlogs kept me informed on any further updates. Nobody watches old vlogs. :lol:
