Start coding. I'll be the first account :P If you actually do, please invite me to test it. Assuming it is a copy of Tanki...

That already exists. If you know java, I can send you a link of "OldTanks" which is the server software that gtanks uses.

Remove poorly made maps like Hill and Highways and have a mapmaking contest.

I think I'll wait a few months and see if they are listening

I just wanted to see how well you could do it :D A few months shouldn't be necessary.

Look above. And yes, I've played GTanks.

*Edit: But I don't know java, only C++, so it will be unnecessary ;)

Was that a typo?  <_<

Even with "resizing" Sandal is still too small.  It's a bloody mosh-pit with 8 vs 8.  And 16 tanks in there for DM?

They need to add more maps like Skylark and make sure ALL maps in list are randomized together.

I swear they rotate them in groups and weight some maps more than others.

Not a typo. One of the Mods mentioned that. But further research shows that the map was actually meant to be played by 40 players (20x20). So, I don't know why the Mod said that. He said that the map is big, but the actual playing area is small due to all the buildings. I've played the map with two full teams and we were tripping all over each other. I found it a difficult map to play without full team support to achieve the battle objectives.

It may have a lot of buildings- but it is a very, very large map.  Have played it in past with 8 vs 8 or even 10 vs 10 and had no movement issues.

These mosh pit maps arent particularly fun. The best maps are those where driving is involved. Kungur, and that new one with a bridge crossing the middle, those are my favorite maps because your driving actually impacts the game. Many times, for example, Ill take a bit longer to skirt behind defenders and come by surprise. Cant do that it sandal, etc

Magistral?

Yeah - hate the mosh-pit battles.  Sandal & Sandbox are just too small for 8 vs 8.  6 vs 6?  Maybe.

Bobruisk, sandal, and sandbox are too small for even 6v6. More suitable for 5v5.

What the developers need to do most is to remove all such 'dead game' topics from the forum to actually make way for helpful feedback such as ways to balance MM. I know the developers have made lots of bad updates, but just shouting "Remove MM" isn't going to help at all.

I don't exactly know in which old topic, but the pre-MM winning percentage for a skilled non-buyer was estimated at around 40% at the lower and middle ranks. Containers and OD have definitely improved the situation for us F2P players.

How?

Buyers get Containers and OD as well.  So that should cancel out and they retain the advantages they had before OD was introduced.

Actually, buyers will likely generate OD faster than non-buyers due to better equipment options - so the gap might be even wider.

Or are you saying it's now more luck so anyone can win?  Not sure that's an improvement...

Buyers can always have lots of crystals and supplies. Now even non-buyers can have the minimum level of crystals and drugs to play well. So they don't cancel out. For example, consider a buyer and a non-buyer at the same rank in 2015 and 2019.

2015:

Buyer had 150k crystals, could buy good equipment.

Non-buyer had 50k crystals, struggled to buy the best equipment.

Buyer had 500 supplies. Could drug enough.

Non-buyer had 250 supplies. Couldn't drug enough.

2019, with increased bonus from containers:

Buyer has 250k crystals. Can buy good equipment.

Non-buyer has 150k crystals. Doesn't need to struggle much to get best equipment.

Similarly with supplies.

I admit buyers have additional benefits like drones, but non-buyers can now at least get the basic equipment.

That's me right here. P2W yet F2P. I currently have over 1.5 million crystals with some decent amount of drugs.

That's my goal for my WO2 account.

Supplies (maybe not RKs) are a wash - crystals are not.

Yes, non-buyer has enough crystals to buy something decent. And maybe some modules with a few upgrades.

But even with containers you still have to make compromises.  Buyers don't.

Buyers with better equipment and options will still reach OD faster than F2P.

Similar in a way to unbalanced battles - where team with upper hand pulls away even more as they generate OD faster.

On the surface it might seem that OD will level the playing field.  But IMO that's an illusion.

@wolverine:

It raises the special things that everyone can do.

Ive seen old vids of battles where most people werent using supplies. Maybe 1-2 people were and they just tore through the enemy. I saw one where a guy had like 50 kills and 1 death or something. Drugging vs not drugging is a bloodbath.

Now everyone has supplies. Buyers have more and maybe drones but now its supplies plus batteries vs supplies. Buyers still have the advantage, but the percentage advantage is less.

A f2p player can still pop vikings overdrive and double damage and clear a base, getting 3 instakills. A f2p player can still hold down a base with titans overdrive

Though I don't necessarily hold with this view, I can understand where you are coming from.

I know what you mean. But at least getting killed by a Railgun M2 with Booster done while having a M2 hull yourself feels better than getting killed by a Railgun M2 while having a M1 or M0 hull. :P

This topic is kinda sad. The original poster seemed desperate to see Tanki get its crap together, but unfortunately that didn't happen and he/she quit.

1. what needs to go

Hull Augments, unnecessary status effect turret augments, critical damage for all turrets, EMP effect (Only Hunter's Overdrive can keep it), AP Effect (it should get reworked into an "Armor-Weakening" effect)

2. what needs to stay

Shards, stars in missions, challenges, the new Smoky Alterations, HD Skins

3. what needs to be changed

  • Turn turret Augments back into turret "Alterations"
  • Nerf Hammer's clip reload
    • And High Capacity Ammo Clip needs a drawback.
  • Nerf Isida's damage
    • And Vampire Nanobots
  • NERF GAUSS
  • Nerf Magnum
  • Nerf Shaft
  • Revert Railgun to it's original pre-critical damage state.
  • Revert Striker to it's original pre-critical damage state.
  • Rename Striker's AP and Stunning Missile Alterations.
  • Make the module slots 100% free.
  • Balance the drones
    • Remove batteries
    • Make all drones NOT consume extra supplies.
  • Rework "Adrenaline" to "Mk9" for the turrets. (I'm gonna post a topic about this in the near-future)
  • Increase Tankcoin rewards.
  • Get rid of Ultra Containers. Everything is now stuffed into the normal container.
  • Make Alterations cheap again.
    • Also make all alterations available for purchase by crystals.
  • Price reduction for modules, because of the need to buy a fourth module to truly max out a combo.
  • Nerf ALL overdrives so we can't die so easily from them now.

This sounds like a good idea if this is done,

.

Then F2P d have a higher chance of using my them effectively as well buyers.

But I doubt them devs would remove batteries ;—;

I think everything we have right now is good. Nothing needs to go.

But some things just need to be balanced like Hopper, Crisis, and other over-powered items.

I think developers are doing this gradually.

Just as how players were asking, they already changed the supply mechanics, given us ways to complete the Challenge fully, and even gave us Shards to get more Containers!

YES! Obviously if this happened drones would become more expensive to upgrade but it's honestly better.

I don't like how it is currently that half of players in a match are with drones and the other half not.
