Tweaks to Overdrives, Turrets, and Drones

Tankers!

 

Tomorrow, April 26, we’ll be releasing some tweaks to overdrives, turrets, alterations and drones.

 

Here’s what you need to know

 

Wasp Overdrive "N2 - Bomb"

 

During the recent festive action it was especially noticeable that the Mammoth with the activated force field can not be resisted. With this update, the Wasp bomb will completely neutralize the Mammoth Overdrive effect.

 

Other changes to Wasp’s Overdrive:

 

  • slightly increased the charging speed;

  • the bomb will explode after exactly 3 seconds;

  • the explosion will no longer cause damage to the tank that set the bomb.

 

Hornet Overdrive, "Radar"

 

Now within the first 10 seconds after activating the Overdrive, getting battle points for destroying tanks will not charge the ability.

 

Viking Overdrive "Berserker"

 

We've loosened this Overdrive a bit: reduced charging speed and reduced extra damage during the effect period.

 

Dictator Overdrive "Overload"

 

This Overdrive will have an additional beneficial effect: replenishing 50% of the Overdrive charge of all allies in the area of action, except other allied Dictators.

 

Mammoth Overdrive "AT-field"

 

In addition to the change associated with the Wasp bomb mentioned above, the Mammoth Overdrive will stop dealing damage to enemies behind obstacles. This means that the killing effect will only work in line of sight and not through walls.

 

Juggernaut

 

His Overdrive now restores his health completely, 100%.

Increased rate of fire in both shooting modes.

The radius of influence of the Overdrive on surrounding tanks is reduced, but in exchange the repulsive force is increased.

 

Vulcan

 

Gun damage on all versions increased by 10%. At the same time, the penalty for damage after overheating is increased — now, instead of 30% of the base damage, Vulcan will deal just 25%.

 

Alteration for Thunder "Sledgehammer rounds”

 

Now reduces reload time by 25% instead of 30% — this means that the rate of fire will decrease slightly.

 

Magnum

 

The minimum and medium splash damage radius increased by 1m. This means that the explosion will be more effective.

 

Shaft

 

Sniper damage increased by 10% on all modifications.

 

Alteration for Shaft "Heavy capacitors"

 

Bonus to scope damage reduced from 30% to 25%.

 

Alteration for Shaft "Rapid-fire mode”

 

Now with this device, in addition to other effects, the maximum sniper damage is reduced by 30%.

 

Drone "Camper"

 

The bonus to the recharge rate of supplies increased by more than 2 times.

It is most slow charging OD, still need to reduce charging time? Why you hate viking so much? Slowest charging and now less damage and for nano seconds. WOW.. hats off to you man..

Now reduces reload time by 25% instead of 30% — this means that the rate of fire will decrease slightly.

what!! :o  :huh:  i thought firing rate will increase when its 25% instead of 30%???

The wording is a little awkward... 

 

Reducing the buff (30% down to 25%) of reload has the effect of lowering the fire-rate.  Reload is now longer.

 

 

Finally something good for Vulcan (which Devs seemed to hate).  Guess we will see even fewer Incendiaries - especially since stock vulcan goes better with Viking.

Don't think sledgehammer needed netf, thunder doesn't do that much anyway because almost everyone got module from it. Sledgehammer made it worth it to play on thunder, but now It's going to be pretty much worthless.

But sledgehammer is practically an upgrade and an exploit if used beyond stock thunders range of max damage.

Please Alternativa listen, OK some of these changes are good but the Dictator one makes no sense.

Good changes: Wasp overdrive buff, Sledgehammer rounds, Vulcan (still thinking making Vulcan overheating literally useless however is stupid and removes an interesting mechanic of the turret), Magnum changes and Viking (as long as nerf is not too much).

 

Bad changes: Dictator: This is actually a Dictator NERF, not a buff. Why? You have said that Dictator cannot benefit from Dictator overdrives new benefit of 50% extra overdrive charge - so now every other hull in the game will get an extra 50% overdrive the overdrive of any Dictator who is in your team, except if you are using a Dictator! Balance is about power relative to other hulls, this makes Dictator weaker relative to all the other hulls, the opposite of what is needed.

In Challenges now, you need to be able to do well personally to get a high place on your team, to get a good number of stars. Dictator overdrive needs to provide more benefit to the user themself, this is the opposite of what is needed and will make it even harder to come first on your team. Scrap this change, a good change would have been something like giving the Dictator user a small boost in damage/protection/speed (Say 5% for each), when overdrive is active.

Please think about this an consider making a different change, that actually benefits the Dictator user and does not nerf them relative to other hulls.

You have a point.  team co-operation is almost non-existent - with exception of clans/groups.

 

You buffing your team-mates makes you weaker relative to them.  As soon as team-mates see you with star they will follow you like puppies - begging for your OD to recharge theirs...

It is a little confusing...

previously the Sledgehammer rounds alteration decreased the reload time by 30%,

after the update it will decrease the reload time by 25%

So, Thunder energy bar will recharge slower, hence slower firing rate

Um... WTH is 500 o/s?

Juggernaut: Overdrive heals him/her fully. Firerate increased, repulsive force increased.

 

Alternation for Thunder "Sledgehammer Round" 

 

Shaft: Sniper damage increased by 10% on all modifications.

Um.... Viking' s OD is already slow. Why even more??? I mean is a good rebalance, but why?

 

Good update, but more can be done.

 

I don't mind even I have this alt.

So mammoth and Viking got a nerf after finally becoming decent again. Ugh <_<

 

 

What about titans OD? it's way too strong

Idk if you played DM with the new OD , but there 80% are playing viking . And mammoth , it is still more then ok , not many things can stop it , only the wasp bomb ( which doesnt stop it , but removes the OD ) . On RGB mode the mammoth was ruining the gameplay due to instoppable in OD .

Damage increase is ok , i stopped playing incendiary band when last changes made since there wasnt any point , and keeping my eye on the overheating beam , since damage was near 0 when it starts . Now theres even less point of the incendiary , but it gets better when playing normal . Vulcan rarely comes out of the garage now , maybe this is better . Reduce startup time and it might be usefull on smaller hulls , but i got to see 1st .

Yes exactly, I agree with the idea of buffing Dictators but this is flawed, the fact that Dictator cannot benefit from the overdrive means that actually this is a Dictator NERF.

 

Just imagine the typical scenario, say you are using Dictator and there is another Dictator in your team. The rest of your team are benefiting from a 50% overdrive charge buff every time that Dictator uses it's overdrive... except you. So this is a BUFF to every other hull than Dictator when it comes to gaining score.

 

Sure you help your team win, but in the Challenges system we have to get a certain placement to get stars. This means after this change it will be harder for Dictator to earn stars.

 

Of course they do not give the Dictators themselves the overdrive buff because multiple Dictators could have infinite overdrives if they teamed up. So there is no good solution, just get rid of this change altogether and give Dictator a personal buff instead like a buff to damage/protecton, like Hornet's overdrive. The Hornet is a good model - it gives a strong personal buff for itself as well as a benefit for its team, this is how Dictator overdrive should be.

 

Good update, this will increase the number of dictators in battles now  :ph34r:

No, this is not a good change for Dictators if you think about it - if you are a Dictator user, this is a Dictator nerf. See my post above for explanation.

 

EDIT: But I do think the devs had the right general idea to buff Dictator's overdrive, though this is the wrong way to do it. Also, the rest of the changes are overall pretty good, all considered I think this is one of the best patches so far with buffs to Wasp and Vulcan etc. being much needed.

No more enemy Mammoths taking Meteorites!

Just plant a bomb near the Mammoth: If it doesn't use it's OD, it's dead. If it does, the bomb will deactivate it and the Meteorite will kill it.
