Making Dictator a Real Dictator

I've read all the comments.

 

A large portion of Freeze's abilities are derived from it being able to slow down targets. negating that (even briefly) is equivalent to nerfing it's damage.

The afterburn is a built-in damage effect for Fire. Without that, Fire would do more damage by default. So negating that (even briefly) is equivalent to nerfing it's damage.

 

Dictator is not a "normal" hull without special Off or Def mechanism. It essentially gets double-length supplies. Having ability to use 2 RKs back-to back is more valuable than you give credit for.

 

And you seem to discount the effect of doing this for ALL team-mates. Devs have decided to make Dictator a "team-player" hull. If that's not something you appreciate, then maybe Dictator is not the hull for you.

A team leader, I might say. And for that it needs to survive. Being immediately killed after using OD is like a king says "Charge" or "Attack" and is the first one to get hit by an arrow and dies. I admit getting killed after activating Viking's OD is much worse, but that more about game balance than about introducing new concepts. I just added this as a suggestion just to be thought about... I don't feel it's the need of the hour or deserves a serious argument.

What should happen is all team-members (within range) get a 25% charge rate boost.

I think this would be sufficient help to teammates in the middle of a battle, but at the end since many players like to save OD for last 30 sec, it wouldn't help with the 25% increase.

Also, if 3 players on one team all use Dictator-than there will practically zero waiting time for OD, and (in the rare case) if 4 players on a team use Dictator, the whole team will constantly be using OD so this will not work once players figure this out.

I was thinking about how to make Dictator get at least a full set of supplies from its OD. And the answer I got was simple- make it like an April Fool's Gold. 1 minute of all supplies (DD, DA, and SB) activated irrespective of how many times it got destroyed.

It has all to do with Dictator in the sense that it makes it capable of utilising its OD and not just die immediately. Dictator doesn't shock nearby melee turret tanks.

Dictator is not the only hull that suffers from this.

 

Hunter has a 1 second delay before the EMP goes off.  Have died many times during that 1 second.  At least Dictator 1) does not have a delay and 2) automatically gets a DA boost so survivability is increased.

 

Hornets activate OD and can die easily because they have the least health.

But Hunter's OD is meant to have its effect activated for just once, unlike Dictator's that doesn't do any instant action. It's another problem that it has a one second delay, that should be reduced to make Hunter able to insta-shock tanks.

As for Hornet's OD, well, I think it suits campers well and is a bit biased towards short-ranged turrets. But at least it has the surprise element since it makes the user see enemy tanks beyond obstacles...

Why is specifically for the Dictator-this may be a good OD-but it has nothing to tie it to the Dictator other than a catchy name.

I'll prove to you this has nothing to do specifically for Dictator:

Some strange guy never checked for similar topics-and posted topic:Hunter OD allows the user to be immune to burn and freeze effects for 10 seconds. -for hunter!

If he thought of it for Hunter-why is this only for Dictator?

If he thought of it for Hunter-why is this only for Dictator?

That topic was actually to appeal about the 1 second delay of Hunter's OD and had to instead suggest ways to cope with that delay. That's why this is only for Dictator. Any change in things like the Repair Kit duration of Dictator's OD won't make its bonus be completely utilized, unlike that of Hunter's.

How about reworking the overdrive?

 

What I am proposing is that, it will no longer activate supplies.

 

When Dictator activates overdrive...it will receive the following effects for 10 seconds:

  • 70% increased damage.
  • 70% increased resistance.
  • 70% increased speed.
  • 100 Health will be restored every second, totaling to 1000 hp restored (Activating the overdrive will not instantly restore a large amount of health; the repair effect is gradual).
  • Additionally, whenever the Dictator comes within 10 meters of an ally, the ally will receive a 20% boost to it's damage, armor, and speed. (If the Dictator goes out of range of the ally, the ally will no longer receive the boost).
  • Using supplies while overdrive is active will stack the boosts.
  • While the overdrive is active, each kill the player makes will recharge the overdrive by 2% per kill.

Um... NO.  That would be a ridiculous boost.  That's faster than Wasp, and not much slower than Hornet on SB.

 

Double- no.   +170% damage and armor for 10 seconds?  And +110% movement?  (faster than Wasp on SB  :o  )
