Put Tanki Online to GeForce NOW [explained]

Recommended Posts

Add Tanki Online to Nvidia GeForce NOW.

What is Geforce NOW?

- It is a cloud gaming service that gives access to games stored on dedicated GeForce graphics-enabled PCs. So on a potato pc, you get 60 fps on max graphics. [GFN - short for GeForce NOW]

You don't have to download anything to play the games, everything is already downloaded there. You can download it on PC, MAC or SHIELD TV.

If you're familiar with TeamViewer, GFN is similar to it but much better, and advanced.

My laptop is extremely bad for games, however, I can play many popular games at max quality and good fps, such as PUBG, Fortnite and CS:GO, etc.. on GeForce NOW!

My laptop's model is ProBook x360 11-G1 EE which is 4 GB RAM and a CPU of 1.1ghz while these games require a lot more than that, but GeForce NOW does the job with no problem, but you need a good internet (Ethernet recommended) or if you have a good WiFi then no need to get Ethernet, it is just to make it more stable.

What are the internet speed requirements?

- Required broadband connection speed. 20 Megabits per second – Recommended for 720p 60 FPS quality. 50 Megabits per second – Recommended for 1080p 60 FPS quality.

Btw my laptop runs tanki but 30 fps at lowest quality, which is painful to play and it heats up the laptop, while on GeForce NOW, it feels like you're running google chrome only.

Here are the videos comparing both gameplays (Tanki on client and Tanki on GeForce NOW)

1. tanki online on my laptop:

2. tanki online on GeForce NOW (this is an old video, around 6 months old, and this gameplay is recorded on the same laptop as well)

Surprisingly GeForce NOW's internet is extremely good, you get 5 - 10 ping in tanki and sometimes 0 ping in other games. (It is not your internet, their internet) for example if your WiFi disconnects suddenly, your game still remains open, and will take about 3 minutes to close, however, you can return back once you reconnect to your WiFi (or Ethernet) and you will be where you were, but you should be fast so it doesn't close

Keep in mind that GeForce is an app that can be downloaded (and is in Free Beta) it is only available in Europe and North America (all coasts)

Download link:

 https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4481/~/where-can-i-download-the-geforce-now-mac-or-pc-app-again%3F

Download it after you get accepted to the Free Beta :), otherwise there's no reason to download it.

You would have to apply to get it, it took me less than 2 weeks to get it, this might take very long time or short. (Only NA and Europe are eligible for this)

Link for the application:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/geforce-now/

I've also requested them to add the game to their game list since we're not able to play unsupported games anymore on GFN, here's the link to my request:

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1108308/pc/-game-request-add-tanki-online/

Thank you very much

I don't know how it effects lag (if your videos are accurate) but if there is a platform to play other games-wouldn't tanki want to get out there and have more people playing it?

As far as lag-I don't know if tanki is so concerned about that since they try to keep to a minimal lag that most players would still play.

Either way it still is a pretty good idea.

Dude,

You have to be kidding! Either the game isn't optimized or your PC has poor specs.

That is for High End games and you have to pay for them.

Right now it's free, and yes my laptop has poor specs so I play on GFN and it won't lag anymore, I guess you just didn't understand my explanation above

How much CASH would it cost for tanki to be on this thing?

Would it be worth the amount of players?

GeForce NOW supports the game, it adds on their free-to-play list, it could possibly help tanki gain more players, as if you scroll down, you'll see a small list of free-to-play games, so I thought it was a good idea, that's why i'm suggesting

I don't mean free to play,  I mean free for tanki to use the thing.

Will the tanki devs have to pay to be on it?

what do THEY have to do?-will it be worth it for them?

If it is free for the dev team , yes ... no doubt about it . If they got to pay for it , i would have to say no , Tanki requires low spec pc allready . My laptop is now 7y old , and my settings has only only a few things altered ( mipmapping being the mayor only thing , and not seeing the difference in the game )  and in general im upto 50 to 60 fps . If a 7y old laptop can do that , then whats the benefit . In fact , such a low requirement game cannot compete in graphics with the modern games , which you need high graphic card . People who use the geforce now , want to play modern very high demanding games , want so see the leaves blow , want to see all the smallest details etc . The service now , if i read correct is beta testing , this will be a paying service after , and with the internet connection needing to be high speed , i wonder for who this is usefull ( in case of tanki ) .

As case of it is free for the game developers , yes any form of advertisement , on all websites , is always usefull  .

Look at specs of the Geforce Now service .... a pc with that must be able to play Tanki now at about 60 fps .

-dual core 2.0 ghz

- 4gb

- >nvidia 600

- >amd radeon HD3000

- > intel HD2000

So you're telling me that your 7yr pc runs tanki well, means "why add it geforce now then?" Well do you think everyone has a pc like yours? And you think every single one has good fps? You're just assuming people are having good fps already, with these updates, the fps issue is becoming a serious problem. You're telling me that GeForce NOW must need a "fast" internet? the minimum is 10mbps, it's very low for it, and recommended is 20mbps (download speed). I know it's in beta testing, but it has been free on beta version for many years, so I guess adding Tanki to their supported list, will make a small advertisement for Tanki. Btw why are you even commenting on this since your pc runs tanki well? There's no point cause it only concerns people who have bad game plays, fps drop and low graphics, it's very satisfying to play on max graphic + 60 fps.

Your pc with low specs can still run GeForce NOW.

I don't even know why you're posting this, you're just saying "I'm fine, don't add it", you're not alone, many people are like me who have bad fps and wanting an opportunity to have 60 fps on full graphics

Yes free, GFN will support the game. Either Tanki asks them to add the game to their service or GFN asks tanki if it's okay to add it as I suggested them.

Well i told you , if it costs money for developers , then this has no value . Anybody who can run this software is able to run Tanki also at near full framerate . People who do will use the service are looking for more advanced games ( graphics wise ) . Why do you think that everybody got fast internet like you and not have like a 7 y old pc/laptop ? A 7y old pc is probably around the same price as fast internet for 1 month in many places around the world ( and yes i do know what im talking about ) .

So who is this service for : people who do have fast internet and a not top of line pc who do want to play high praphic games . These are not the people Tanki is aiming at .

So knowing that : is it good for Tanki developers to pay to be supported ? I do not think so . I'd rather see them putting money to have advertising in sites like y8 , etc who do offer large amount of easy to run games , which is the public they are aiming at , and also where i know tanki from( not y8 but similar websites ) .

Like i said also , if it is for free for them , sure why not , but they should not pay for it .

I never said they should pay for it, and I said it's free, and who wouldn't have 10mbps on download? And why you keep defending TO? It's like they're spending your money, it's their money and they decide, you're like acting a developer of TO lol, relax, GFN has been in free beta for so long, so why not test Tanki Online on it? (Since unsupported games are removed according to their recent update, however we can request any games we want).

Do you know how hard it is to test that version? I've seen people just begging in forums to people who have access to the games to just experience it.

They are charging payments soon, Anytime the beta test will come to end. 25$ for 20 hours of Gameplay. I can buy GT710 instead of that and play other games.

Its not easy to get selected in beta test. It takes even a year to get selected.

The price you're giving is false, we still don't know the prices yet, don't say stuff you don't know, never give misleading information,  look up more for information about the price, you got this info from random people. I already contacted one of their mods and they said "We still don't have the price info, but we'll announce it at a later date."

Lmao you even believe this is right when it's not even on GeForce NOW's official website, I myself contacted one of their moderators and they said the price is still unknown, however it's in free beta.

I like how you're just too lazy to make searches about it, and think unofficial sites give accurate information, I'm a GeForce NOW user and you can't know the price as I even don't know. Get your facts right

And from official website:

You can even contact them via email and ask them for the price, they will say they still don't know.

Still tho,

You expect people to wait in line to play tanki on a beta project that takes days to get selected to use?

I found a guy waiting for year or two to get selected to the beta tests.

So what is your point? If "a guy" waited for a year or two to be in the beta test, does that mean Tanki must not add their game to GeForce NOW?

bruh its not like they just click on a button to add it, they will need decades to prepare

From where did you make up this theory? Do you even know how a game can be suggested on GeForce NOW program? They've added a lot of games recently suggested by people, unpopular and popular games, they even said "If you miss a game that you'd like to play, suggest us."

plus it doesn't take long time to add a game, for them it's easy but both have to make an agreement whether to add the game on their platform or no.
