I posted an idea about a tractor beam turret about a week ago and I haven't seen it since.

It was merged into the turrets topic. Unfortunately the was a misunderstanding and the post got merged instantly, when it should have stayed on its own with a "merge" tag, so that you would get some feedback about your idea. If you want to, you can post your idea in a separate topic again and I'll approve that one and hide your old post.

how do i know whether you are taking your time to post my idea or you simply merged it somewhere in the forums?

We always quote the post saying "topic merged", so make sure you have quote notifications enabled so that you receive that notification.

This is getting ridiculous.. why is it taking so long? The suggestion i posted i think you are the one who decides whether or not to accept it. so all you have to do is read and say either "yes i'll do it" or "no i won't do this crap"

It take long because there is multiple requests per day. Also it takes some time to search the thousand of ideas already posted to make sure that the idea was not already proposed, something that the initiator of the idea/suggestion didn't do. Additionally it requires to give some thought about the answer and the classification, rushing things and making mistakes is not what we do. Last but not least we are not 24/7 here.

Now, now take a breath, relax and be patient, no need to be be hasty.

No idea is "crap" and no idea is "stupid" - all I&S is given the same treatment.

- Added "Drones" tag to list of tags.

- Table in section header reformatted.

- "Guide for posting ideas" moved from archive to main section

You guys do a great job wrangling the hoard of topics and posts.  I have had several topics merged with another similar topic.  After they get merged they become hard to find.

It would help a lot if you could embed a link to the destination topic that included the identification number of the topic being merged and use the "Merge" button to activate the link.

In other words, I write a separate topic about a mission idea and you merge it with "Ideas for Missions".  I click the "Merge" button next to my topic that has been moved.  Click bam boom, I'm at my specific post in it's new home topic.

I don't quite get it. Where do you expect the button to be located? In the first post of the bigger topic?

When we merge topics and write the text ''merge'', that merge text should include a direct link to that topic/idea so when players see and they click on the merge (which has the link)...they will be taking straight to that topic without them searching them on their own if I understood it well.

But they can just click the gray arrow on the quote, which does the exact same thing.

First a bunch of people need to spend tons of crystals buying and MUing Freeze, and THEN it can be nerfed unbuffed

I see you have changed the way you evaluate balance ideas and suggestions. previously it was all about making all turrets equally effective... glad you finally awoke from your hibernation.

so you gonna re evaluate all those other balance ideas and suggestions? those you evaluated when you were still delusional?

Which ones? Most balance ideas are merged into the balance topic regardless of whether they are valid or declined.

pretty much all of them.

i knwo you merged them but the comments you made about those ideas... shouldn't you change them now that you finally understand this "game balance"?

I would like to discuss how useful this I&S section is at doing its job. I've seen only once or twice the developers actually implement something that originated from the I&S section. This is from my own account, but I would like to ask Maf or BlackWasp how many times have our ideas actually be implemented? The developers seem to be only interested in their opinions and this section is just a place for players to go so they won't annoy the devs...

Comments are just comments. They're in the past, back when I had different opinions about the game. As long as they're not an "official" reason for declining a topic, I don't need to change them.

List of completed ideas

But we don't know how many of those were actually seen by devs and implemented, rather than being coincidentally added as part of an already planned update. Devs don't come to us and say "hey guys, we implemented this idea that this guy posted", because apparently there's some legal issues where if they officially credit an idea to a specific player, that player gets the right to control how that particular feature is developers... or something.

okay, i just thought changing them would give mods more creditability. cause if someone were to look at them now they'd think mods are clowns dancing around the forum.

also, i would like to advise you to think for yourself instead of just believing everything the devs tell you so you could avoid making all those delusional comments in the first place.

FYI, that comment about freeze nerf was a joke. I don't actually believe that it's what devs plan to do (although I don't deny that it might be true).

The developers like hearing players opinion, and it's not a place to annoy devs either...

Considering that developers never really post here and never announce that they implemented an idea that was submitted by a specific user, players have all reason to believe that their ideas are being ignored. I can tell you with 100% honesty that for the past two years I've been making a weekly list of the best ideas for that week and sending the list to the CM (first Cedric, now Nives). Apparently he then sends it to the lead CM, who then passes it to devs, but I never got any feedback about whether or not the ideas I reported actually have any chance of being implemented.

In reality, even if developers wanted to listen to players and implement their ideas, I'm pretty sure they just don't have the time and manpower to do it. It took them almost a year to implement the Matchmaking system, so obviously they can't focus much on player ideas, considering that we get 5-7 idea topics per day, on average.

Yeah, the amount of developers to the amount of valid ideas is simply not enough.

The developers mainly focus on the bigger ideas instead of these small ones.

But small ideas do end up getting implemented every now and then. Mostly by coincidence, I presume :D
