"Simulator" (SM) Mode

Simulator Mode

Basic Description

An extra-challenging mode available in the mid-high rank, rewards for completing a battle are higher, but the difficulty is the highest, not for the inexperienced, or for low-quality PCs.

Simulator takes a basic TDM format, and puts some massive twists and changes, in order for it to be closest to a "real" tank battle, but still playable and enjoyable. Changes are as followed:

8 Basic Changes:

  • NO supplies
  • NO supply boxes
  • NO gold/black boxes
  • NO drones
  • NO upgrades
  • NO alterations
  • NO overdrives
  • (Nearly) NO autoaim

14 Advanced Changes

  • Each team has 1 base, a normal point, these are not for capturing, nor do they display a letter, they are only for re-supplying ammo when remaining stationary next to them.
  • LIMITED AMMO (each turret will carry a different maximum amount, Twins more than Magnum. etc, you can re-supply ammo at your team's base.) There is a maximum amount you can carry, but the more you carry, your weight increases, your speed will decrease slightly.
  • Turrets are solid.
  • Self-Destruction does NOT remove a kill
  • Unlimited re-spawns, BUT once your tank is destroyed, you automatically open your in-battle garage shortcut. This is because you cannot use that turret & hull again in the battle. If you run out, you get your reward you earned up to that point and leave.
  • Enemies have NO displayed gamertag.
  • Allies have NO displayed gamertag, except when close-up
  • Friendly Fire is ON, you get a warning that you attacked an ally.
  • 24 minute battle time. There IS a daylight-cycle, one minute in battle equals 1 hour of real-time change, you spawn in early dawn daylight and end at dusk.
  • Random occasional weather.
  • Your team gets a 1 minute prep-time to prepare and chat.
  • Only team chat is available, no 'All' chat
  • Only the largest maps are used
  • Damage number is NOT displayed

Declined

That just sounds... really boring. Also, there's no way there will be higher rewards if players aren't using supplies, drones, or MUs.

The 15 advanced changed just don't sound interesting to me. The games where a particular piece of equipment or fuel tank wears out or empties have lost their appeal. This just doesn't sound tanki-ish. In Tanki, you're meant to die and respawn, because you don't "build up" your tank...

Also-would an Isida's heal count for ammo?

Yes, short range guns will have a limited number of ammo tanks they can consume.

Yes but either way healing ammo needs to be lighter-since why would anyone use it?

Also-this idea does seem quite complicated.

Battle score would be the same?

I'd actually like this, but with unlimited fuel. It could be a clan vs clan mode

Under review

Some people want to use strategy instead of using rather artificial damage boosters and gimmicky (and frankly lame) mechanics.

I had my hopes for OD's but they're honestly too forgiving to the user.

My thoughts exactly, I took away limited fuel range for the hulls.

I never worked out actual numbers, but it won't be too bad of a a speed reduction, barley noticeable, and you'll still have a good amount of ammo you can carry.

Score stays about the same. I fully admit it is complicated, it's not really for everyone.

You need a way this would benefit Tanki if it doesn't help buyers-their M3s are M0s.

Unless you charge 3000 crystals for a 30 day 'SIM Pass' to enable players to play.

I don't understand what you mean by "their M3s are M0s"

But, you do make a good point about being no revenue in this mode, perhaps a pass? or maybe a small fee to enter per battle, based on GS?

That doesn't sound too bad.

Great idea, very well thought out, but I don't think this mode will come ANYTIME soon...It would require many new updates (including the entire mechanics of ammunition regaining, the mechanics of forcing players to change equipment after destruction, and the feature of paying out crystals based on previous battle performance). I would be excited if a mode such as this one were to come into the game, though it seems too much in-depth, that I doubt anyone would play it. Doesn't seem feasible...

ODs just take down the level of strategy even further. Tanki isn't really strategic anymore, no matter how much strategy you have, drugs and P2W players will win.

Status changed to declined

Day-night cycles and weather won't be implemented at all, let alone for just a single mode (too expensive)

Higher rewards in this mode - not a chance, unless there's a high entree fee or something. But that proved to be a bad idea as per DM tournaments. The "advanced" changes have a lot of flaws, but, most importanty, they simply do not fit Tanki's gameplay style. Of course there will be a niche audience that will enjoy this mode, but developers won't be making such a massive feature if only a few players will be interested.
