Is selecting different country fraud?

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules, BUT I also don't think they enforce that rule very good, theirs a lot of players who changed their residence.

Why would you want to change your country of residence to make a purchase?

Because certain countries get things cheaper, MUCH cheaper in TO shop, so when you convert from the currency shown to your own, for instance premium + battle pass is $6 or something, but then you change your location from US to Russia and the value in rubles is lower, so you can get it for $4 if you buy when selecting your country as Russia. It looks like in "how to make a purchase" page it tells you the purchase may fail if you select the wrong country, but nothing about it being fraudulent if it succeeds.

You change your place of residence from U.S. to Russia. You pay with a credit card or debit card that is located in the U.S. Your U.S. dollars will have to be converted into Roubles. There will be a transaction, foreign exchange fee, it's not free. You would still be paying more than $4.00. Your transaction may fail because you would be paying from a foreign bank...bank in U.S. I'm not an expert in this field. I suggest you do some online searches.

I found this in the game rules:

2.1.6. Use of the Game and/or Game services for fraudulent actions, including without limitation fraudulent in-game financial operations, fraud in the course of transactions, payments, including any refund, prohibited transactions;

I think what you are proposing is considered fraudulent. From Wikipedia:

In law, fraud is intentional deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain, or to deprive a victim of a legal right. Fraud can violate civil law (i.e., a fraud victim may sue the fraud perpetrator to avoid the fraud or recover monetary compensation), a criminal law (i.e., a fraud perpetrator may be prosecuted and imprisoned by governmental authorities), or it may cause no loss of money, property or legal right but still be an element of another civil or criminal wrong.[1] The purpose of fraud may be monetary gain or other benefits, for example by obtaining a passport, travel document, or driver's license, or mortgage fraud, where the perpetrator may attempt to qualify for a mortgage by way of false statements.[2]

A hoax is a distinct concept that involves deliberate deception without the intention of gain or of materially damaging or depriving a victim.

There's a duplicate topic, couldn't find now.

In it, we decided as it is not fraud. Some guy showed a screenshot where he mails T.O and asks the same question. T.O's reply was claiming that it is not fraud.

Lol, interesting, guess in only certain countries it is fraud then? Because I have heard you can get in legal trouble for doing this as well. If the other topic can't be found because of an awful search engine, well, not our fault. Lots of topics get lost to time in my experience.

We don't know for sure unless someone has proof. If this is not fraudulent by AG's own admission, then it should be fine for someone to test this. Not talking about it in general, but factual function concerning this game's purchases.

Yeah but it doesn't give examples of what is fraudulent, that excluding residence switching for purchases. And if what loginci says is true, well, then this is just a moot point.

What I don't get is why tanki doesn't raise the shop prices for Russians.

The devs could profit from this.

Because it's all about the economy and a country's purchasing power. Families in the US typically have more discretionary income (money left over for saving and leisure after all the bills are paid), therefore more money to spend on Tanki. A lot of Russians would find the Tanki store too much to even consider purchasing anything if it were US store prices.

I did my homework and did the research then passed my knowledge on to you....take it or leave it. Go ahead and make the leap. If you get into trouble, you can't say you weren't warned. If nothing happens, more power to you. Next time do your own homework.
