I cannot join any battle (temporary topic)

Loading screen never finishes loading, it just moves to the end of the screen and restarts back at the middle, then does the same thing over and over again. The game is downloaded on my desktop and that's how I play it.

 

This has been happening for several hours now, since the release of the Gauss turret.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Same thing also happens to me, all the time. I just go do school, in a few hours it works again. I've noticed another thing since the Gauss was released. People randomly self-destruct, including me, I went down a ramp and self-destructed. I was using Twins but I had full health and I didn't shoot.... I was also saved by this once, a Freeze/Wasp self-destructed just before engaging me ;)

Closing and reopening the client will fix it, for a while.

 

Until it inevitably either freezes, gives you the "an error has occurred", or it gets stuck loading again. I'm baffled at how these haven't been fixed in all the time the client's been out, but what can you do?

I've been having loading problems for a while, now. It happens in between battles. When the loading bar starts to go at a snail's pace, I know I have to reload the tab, which is in between nearly every battle. It happens so often that I just automatically reload the tab before clicking on another battle, seems to help. 

 

Yes, @KariWolves, I know all about the cleaning and dumping the trash and how to reduce lag. I don't need the lecture. I also know that the signal comes to us through underwater cable system and the problem lies between the receiving station and my computer. The Devs are innocent, that's why it has existed since the beginning of time with this game, except for about a year or so when hardly anyone complained about lag. Then suddenly, it's a major issue, again. Go figure. 

 

I've never had to reload the tab between each battle before, until about a month ago. But that's my fault...Right? It does no good to complain. It's like calling a repairman to fix the refrigerator. He says it's fixed, but after he leaves I notice he didn't plug it back in. So, I plug it in and it catches fire. I call the repairman to complain and he says it's my fault for plugging it in.

Problem is not my internet, neither is it with the server lag, that shows itself by high PING while still letting me enter battles.

 

The browser version does put me in matches, but it's still very laggy for me, I'd much rather use the client.

 

 

My laptop has recently been hit with the dreadful 100% disk usage problem, which has to potential to make any device freeze for several minutes even to the simplest of commands, rendering it pretty much useless. I tried multiple tips and suggestions on how to fix that, still to no avail. Maybe this is the cause of my problem, although now it's so bad that I can barely even enter the game.

I encountered the same problem in recent weeks too.  I could get into the first battle quick and smooth.  But, I was always stuck at the loading screen when I wanted to get into another battle.

 

I would be sent into the battle straightaway if I reloaded the tab and logged in again.

Update: The laptop itself was most likely the problem. I'm gonna have to find a way to get rid of that disk space usage thing.

 

Guess this topic isn't necessary anymore, so maybe a mod can close it. Thanks a lot for the replies.

Have you tried defrag to free up space? Dump temp files? Uninstall apps you don't use or can live without? Most apps are not space hogs, but a few are.

Yes, I've literally done all of those, and none gave me a permanent solution. I tried disabling some windows services, which not-so-surprisingly resulted in a noticeable improvement in performance, but on the other hand, it also caused me to accidentally disable some features on the laptop like audio and internet connection, so I had to undo everything and stop meddling with the services tab since I'm no computer expert here.

The next step is to delete personal files, not system files...don't mess with them as you found out. I'm not a geek either so I'm not going to suggest which files to delete, I'd be flying by the seat of my pants the same as you. Hopefully, a geek will see this and help you. Good luck.
