Make speed up an actual speed up and put the current feature under another name

Recommended Posts

Hi I haven't posted an idea in a really long while but I have something new now.

So we have the "speed-up" button that comes up after you decide to micro-upgrade an item. But what that does isn't speeding up but just instantly completing the MU. What I think should happen is that the speed-up should be changed so that actually speeds up the upgrade (Preferably, maybe to 5-7 times faster, maybe?), rather than making it instant. And the current thing the speed-up does doesn't have to be removed, just changed to something else, maybe like a "Instant implementation" button.

It would work like this:

So after you have pressed the upgrade button, instead of just a speed up button appearing beside it, both a speed up button and an insta-implementation button would appear. Instant implementing would cost just as much as micro upgrading is now for each upgrade on every item (Which makes sense because they would then be the same thing under different names), and the actual speed-ups would cost about several times less than the instant.

Valid

Declined

Not an important feature but certainly one that would be nice to have I guess. But...I don't think them having different prices would be something that might happen. If both of them costed the same amount of crystals just one being cooler than the other like you seeing the timer go from 9 days to 0 in a minute or maybe less, perhaps a bit more like fast forwarding something just for the visual part and it being ''cool'' then I guess.

I'm not sure you fully understand. It is not a visual effect. It speeds it up by many times, like say the upgrade would normally take 2 days, now it takes like around 3 hours. That is what the speed-up would be. The instant implementation would be instantaneous - no waiting time, just like the current speed-up feature does now. What is happening here is a feature (Actual speed-up) is being added to accompany another (The current insta-upgrade that the current so-called speed-up does), and the name of the feature that was there first (The name of "speed-up") is being used for the new feature instead. The insta is obviously better than still waiting a bit so it would cost some more.

I got your point but them having different prices is something would lower them implementing but hey, we will see. If it was just for the visual looks then it is fine but this is just another way of MU items with less crystals which you know might/might not happen but time will tell.

I don't really see the benefit in this for players. Say you want to upgrade your drone from 0 to 20 steps. Ignoring discounts, currently you can either spend 1 000 000 crystals and 208 days upgrading it with no speed-ups, or spend 3 000 000 to instantly get it to 20 steps.

Let's assume that your feature reduces speed-up time 3x, so instead of 208 days it will be around 70 days. But you can already do that with the current system: just start an upgrade step, wait for 1/3 of the time to pass and instantly speed up the rest. Then start the next step, wait for 1/3 of time and speed up. Repeat until 20 steps. That way you will spend 3x less time waiting for the upgrades, but you will also pay around 1 320 000 on the speed-ups. Yes, that's a huge amount, but like I said - you can't expect it to be any lower even if your feature gets implemented.

Wow. I never thought about that...

Yes. In fact, I'm going to have to decline this idea due to it being unnecessary and detrimental to the economy.

Whatever. I wanted that to happen anyway.

this sounds good-just if players are really paying for speed-ups/instant implementation (II)-are they so concerned about the crystals?-I say not really. Those (like me) who simply wait and save crystals probably won't pay for Speeds Ups.

How many tankers would actually use II?
