Wasp's bomb needs the team color

Recommended Posts

I suggested this before, but it seems to have gotten lost.

It would be very helpful to know which team planted the bomb.  It seems like it would be an easy thing to code to have the bomb's body be red or blue.

As it is now a green light on the bomb means you are safe and red means dead.  But when you see a bomb that is green can you approach?  If you could see that your team planted it you would know that you can continue or if the opposition planted it, you know not to get closer.

As it is now and you see a bomb that is green, you must stop until it goes off, unless you have seen the player that planted it (red or blue).  This senario happens many times when several players from each side have a pile up...there is a green bomb, but who planted it...gotta wait.

To be clear, I'm not saying remove or even alter the red and green lights on the  bomb.  I am saying to add team colors to the body of the bomb which is now gray.

(Wow, the bomb has your paint on it like the drones do.  It's so small it can't be seen, but it's there.  I just took a screen shot to illustrate my suggestion and I can see my paint when I enlarge the bomb.)

Top left is as the bomb is now (says now).  The two next to it are a very poor rendering of my red and blue bomb suggestion.  The enlargement is just to prove that your paint is actually on the bomb and I'm not nuts.  (I am using the Australia paint)

Nah... it's three seconds. If there's a pile-up you're most likely going to have Fires/Freezes, and you're getting outta there as quick as possible anyways. Rarely do you see a bomb that doesn't have a Wasp nearby that just planted it, and if you do it's almost certainly going off in less than two seconds... just wait.

*Edit: Hehe, animated paints move on the bombs :)

I like this idea. My only suggestion is that the color change should be for the triangle indicator, as it's easier to see.

I hate running from a teammate's bomb and not.....

  • Capture the flag
  • Capture a point
  • Attack the blue base
  • Catch a gold box

I like the idea to change the bomb's colour according to the team. This would help a lot in determining whether or not to approach the bomb, since it isn't meant to affect allies (not even scaring them).

1. If you see a red triangle over the bomb, move away from it.

2. If you see a green triangle, you can check the colour and know whether it's safe to approach or not.

The triangle shouldn't be changed, since there already are people complaining about not knowing their own team colour and shooting allies (mostly surrounding the Hornet OD). Before you realise that the blue triangle means you're in danger (if you're on the Red team) you would have died.

Actually, just change the triangle color to the team color instea of this safe/green dead/red system.  You know your team color....if you see the opposite color you are dead or don't approach...very easy and simple.

Change the triangle to the team color, blue or red.  Let the body stay as it is and do away with the safe/unsafe idea that is in place now.

There are people that don't know their own team colour, and shoot allies or think enemies are allies, since they can see their health bar, when a Hornet OD is active.

I would say it is a trivial percentage of people that don't know their team's color. And if the bomb were to change to team colors it might even motivate that tiny fraction of players to look and remember their own teams color...maybe they'd stop shooting teammates as an added bonus :)

Is it true to the mobile version?

Good question. I assume so, since mobile is very similar to HTML5.

The light on top of the bomb now shows as red to enemies and blue to teammates.

It only shows which color it is the 1 second before it detonates. In my opinion, it should last the entire time.
